Default Difference in x pipe designs

I know Im splitting hairs here but is any one actual x piece best? Check out the pics below of the several different "X" pipes out there.

Is any design best?

What does it matter he is asking what design of X-pipe is better.

I would say its the one where the pipes bairly touch because it still has almost the same amount of volume.

Default Y-Pipes....y-not?

The effectiveness of a y-pipe depends on the design, the first one would be
my choice if I didn't know of a better design....and I do. Magnaflow makes
a y-pipe that's also a resonator with dual inlet/outlets to mix the sounds.
F1 uses them in all their dual cat back systems but I'm not a fan of the
mufflers they use so I chose HKS....my choice!

an x-pipe will help with sound, exhaust velocity and flow, usually they're used to replace an H-pipe or join together a dual exhaust that has no merge or mixing point in the path of the system.

In most dual exhaust systems, I have seen the x-pipe make benefitial gains over an open flow design and especially h-pipes.

damn noobs giving advice again? (while you are clearly not a forum noob, it seems you are on this topic)
Do you even know what starvation means?

The x pipe and the exhaust design that is "better" is 100% related to the vehicle and it's other mods.

Go read the shockwave exhaust thread.

How would it not matter? So if hes asking this question bc he is FI and he wants a x pipe on his AAM 3" TD exhaust it doesnt matter? He never specified 4 what exhaust so that really DOES matter

Speaking of X pipes, do any of you HKS/Xo2 owners know if the Magnaflow res. X pipe will fit in replacement of the silly H pipe we have?

Wow I didnt expect this thread to get so out of hand. Ha ha. I guess which design would be best for the z.

It seems as tho these are all unique to manufacturers regardless of what car they are intended for.

All of bassani x's look the same, as do magnaflows and corscas, again regardless of what model car the exhaust is intended for. Kind of like a trademark.

That's plain nuts. hell I may have to cut up my knockoff to see if its as shotty as the real thing. Gonna talk to a local muffler shop and see if we can fit a res. x in there. I'm not too sure.
