Default Hi Tech muffler system

Hi there,

Just wanted to post the finished picture of a cat back exhaust system developed out of Australia. My car was used as the test mule to work out the best system and we got fantastic results.

Dyno runs were done, before, with muffler, with entire system.

End result was 18rwkw at the wheels. Nearly spot on with another Z and a further system is being done on a car.

Regards
Mike

Can anyone convert the 18rwkw in their head real quick so those of us used to hp can understand what that equates to?

Wow, that looks great (I love the stock look). I am curious on the HP power equivalent also

Not to sound critical, but 24 HP at the rear wheels is a litte tough to swallow. Not even the Injen produces this much gain. Can someone confirm the conversion from kW to HP? Could you post a dyno graph of before and after. Just looking for more evidence.

Nice clean job. I've not seen the two-inlet presilencer rather than the usual Y-pipe into a single inlet. Who makes the presilencer and muffler?

Peptidbond,

I would have been the same to be honest but keep in mind I have nothing to do with this shop, I just fronted up with my car so they could design something on.

I also took it to the dyno myself and I nearly feel over when I saw it!

These guys make systems and ship them all over the world including ferrari and porsche systems that get equally impressive results. They build the enture thing, muffler, pre-silencer everything!

Also was interesting when Ford in Australia rang them to find out why their system on a new release Ford Falcon produced more power than theirs!!!!

Anyway will scan in the graph and send it to you.

Jackwhale,

I asked about that design also. Basically what we found was that mid range torque greatly improved when the system was like this.

The guys at Hi Tech make the entire system. Funky robots weld up the cans and they now have a jig to mass produce.

Haa haa! Lets leave that one.......

Guys you can email or call Hi tech. I think they have a dealer in CA according to the website.

http://www.hitechmufflers.com.au

I am sure they will do something if a few people are interested.
