If you don't like the sound change something. The sound will change. Then change something else maybe.

You might as well switch back to OEM cats if you don't like it. Why do you want HFCs if you cannot stand the noise that comes with them??

I have drone but I don't care..

no way the HR is not like the DE. any ways never mind this thread was useless.

wait test pipes are going to make the exhaust louder. but will they decrease the drone at low rpms which what i'm tring to lower. i mean my exhaust is not loud past2.500 rpms. just wondering if tp would have less drone at lower rpm mainly at highway cruising

Ceramic utilize ceramic substrates. Metallic use metallic spun substrates and flow better than ceramic, hence why they tend to sound similar to test pipes..

I seriously doubt test pipes will have less drone. Just in case you didn't know, test pipes are empty pipes, meaning there is no substrate to burn the harmful gases that come from our engines. It flows more than anything else, because it's a hollow pipe.

A quiet exhaust = Tanabe Medallion Touring, Nismo (with stock cats), and I heard Stillen isn't obnoxiously loud either..

HKS is pretty damn quiet.

OP, it sounds like you know the answer to your question. If it sounded better with the ceramic cats, then find someone to either trade, or sell the MHFC and buy the CHFC again.

BTW, did you happen to have a sound clip of your setup with the HKS and ceramic cats?
