Default Went From TurboXs to Xo2......Test Pipes? **Video added on page 2**

Another local Z owner and I decided to swap our exhausts out. I want a dual exhaust, and he wanted something that was more in the mid range tone.

After I installed the Xo2 I immediately noticed a difference in throttle response and believe it or not torque not something major but definitely an improvement.

A while back I bought some resonated test pipes on ebay(off brand) and threw those on while I had the TurboXs on and it sounded like crap. So I decided to give them a shot and see what they would sound like on the Xo2. Again, they sound like crap! There is some type of whistling noise around 4K. I dunno what it is.

So my question is, is it really worth it to run test pipes? If so, resonated or non? Or should I go with High flow cats? Give me your suggestions.

btw I also have DC sport headers.

IMO it is not worth it to run test pipes. They sound like crap and do not pass inspection. I had some on my HKS hi power set up and it was loud but sounded terrible. I switched to Berk's HFC and could not be happier. The sound is deeper with zero rasp. If you do decide to run test pipes, definitely resonated...

every test pipe makes the whistle sound - in fact, anything but stock cats do it.

Testpipes FTW. Simply no comparison, if your going to do something dont do it halfass. Ive ran HFC's and its just about the same as TP's. Same stink, less power, same CEL's, same noise just a little more muffled...and 3 times the price. Please guys if u wanted a car that sounded good you should have bought a Corvette. If u care about going fast, a "slight rasp" or whistle at 4k should be the least of your problems.

I personally think the TP's where the best bolt-on I put on my car, the whole car changed after install. Throttle rspnce, low end tork, top-end power was all stronger.

It took me weeks to feel a difference from my pop-charger and 5/16 spacer. Im still doubting there power increases.

Testpipes, Tune, exhaust and gears was money well spent.

And my car made 282/262 on a dynojet uncorrected.

I didn't have a "slight rasp" I had a HORRIBLE rasp. Don't forget my car has headers which change the tone of the exhaust.

I had ultimate racing HFC and then tried Helix tp. Needless to say after driving it for a couple days I switched back to HFC. I didn't feel a power diff at all between the two and the TP were way too obnoxious with the XO2.

There's one good thing about test pipes: nothing inside to fall apart. Nothing inside to rattle.

+1!! Instead they just crack in half! I went thru 2 sets of cheapo ones untill my Megan Racing V2's.

My best friend just bought some stillen HFC's and he wishes he would have bought TP's. Theres no difference in smell or rasp. And the one thing he got them for was not to throw CEL's and within the first hour after install he had a P0057 lololol. We cleared it and all the usual cel's just came back and back and back. Just like with testpipes.

My CEL's where permantley deleted thanks to UPREV----FTW!!!!

I have strup test pipes and an X02. Its loud but Im used to it now. The combo dropped .3 tenths off my quarter mile time and I gained 2mph. I have video of the sound but havent uploaded it yet. Also I have non foulers so no CEL for me.
