Default Performace With Test Pipes

Do you guys really notice any difference in performance when you took off your cats off and put the test pipes on? I have a nismo s tune exhaust with helix non resonated test pipes. When i changed my setup i noticed that i lost some low end torque. I know they say with tp you lose low end torque but you gain more power and overall speed but at when does this really kick in? Are we talking about somewhere over 100 or more like around 60? I do like the sound combo although sometime there is some rasp, it still sounds good.

Knock on wood, My test pipes have not cracked even though i have the nismo exhaust. Is there only a problem with HFC cracking. Yes i did search but all i found was about HFC cracking and only some tp cracking after a year or something..

thanks for the help

There is a narrow band 10TQ dip in performance between approximately 1600 to 2200 RPM. That's cruise control speed.

Everywhere else is good gains.

Butt dynos are notoriously inaccurate but maybe you have something else going on.

What exhaust are you running?

You misunderstood him, he said butt dyno. As in what you FEEL.

You're getting the extra power from them, it's just impossible to tell without seeing the before and after curves from a dyno. The only mods that will really "kick in" are F/I and nitrous.

& test pipes wont? cmon man... your talking irrelivent here

test pipes are absolutely a good gain N/A or F/I... less restriction (bends/baffling) is better for exhuast flow...

its not rocket science

its easier to put your cats back on opposed to something happening to the engine with a turbo.... but F/I is a thought if my car isnt burning too much oil

that i can agree with... but nissan can still void your warranty if they see no cats... they could actually get fined for working on a car with no cats oddly enough...

more responsive with cats as stated earlier. not really worth the change at all. in fact I would say that no boltons are worth it unless you just want to change the tone of the car in which case an exhaust would be straight. Save your money and go FI or enjoy the car for what it is.
