Hey guys i had a nismo exhaust + test pipe on my coupe and it sounded nice when above 3k rpm but below that i couldnt stand the rasp it was giving me so i took the test pipe out and put the stock cat back on.

I miss the loud sound that it was giving me and was mabe thinking of putting a hfc on my car.

Would a hfc with the nismo exhaust still give me rasp?

I was looking for a hfc that gives no rasp

Which brand gives out no rasp with the nismo exhaust

I have heard that the Y pipe needs to be change in order for my rasp to go away also.. which brand y pipe and which brand hfc will go good with the nismo cat back exhaust and not give any rasp

Help me out gang.. i have searched but didnt come out with a solution

 

i think your thinking more about a test pipe the a HFC. i dont think ull get as much from a hfc... but i may be wrong

 

i am just gonna go berk for the sake that they supposedly fixed the cracking issues when paired up with the nismo

 

you might be able to stop the cracking issue but my question is how long will it be until you blow the guts out of the hfc's.

im just going to go with berk tp's and nismo exhaust when i get them next week

 

i have nismo and crawford hfc combo no rasp and i turns heads constantly

 

bluez33 ill be boosted when it comes back out too, so that may be true...but all i have to say is do a sound clip for me and let me know when u get them on, def. under load

Ultimate Racing HFCs sound nice with the nismo. Those HFCs increase the sound, but don't overkill it. Plus they sound sick. Oh and no rasp!

Try to find someone with this combo, they are few and far in between.

yeah bro...i remember seeing yours on there, im def. going with the berk high flows, and dc header, with nismo cat-back i just hope the high flows hold up...i don't want the test pipe rasp and hopefully the berks will hold up like i said...

 

Never put Nismo one, i sold them. But once you get a diff brand y-pipe, you will know why people complain about nismo Y-pipe. (Nismo's flex line is not flex enough. )

Edit: i was very interest in MD's product, but that was out of my budget that time. But i do recommand MD's XYZ pipe tho.

 

Berks are one of top company and has good customer service. Plus if you r going with vortech, get a better Y-pipe then Nismo ones. something little bigger pipe, and much better designed.

 

HFCs + Motordyne XYZ pipe WITH resonator + nismo mid + nismo muffler = no rasp.

^the berks would be fine... i dont have a sound clip and i dont have it on my car now, but i had the exact setup i mentioned above only with non res test pipes and it barelly rasped after the resonator broke in...

it sounded great i loved it, but ideally i wanted to swap out the TPs with some 2.5" HFCs and that wouldve been the sexx, but i never got around to it and sold the setup since i was gonna sell the car.... now that i decided to keep the car im really kicking myself for sellin it

will probably be looking into getting the exact same setup in the near future...

 

yeah my minds pretty made up on which high flow to get..def. gonna go with the berks...now im thinkin of changin the y pipe though, so i have more peace of mind about cracking...Ill have to figure out which one to go with..

Those are top quality/designed. Also if those are out of your budget then look into AAM's also.
