HFC [ Interior Exhaust Odor ]
I've been having my HFC for a while and the smell of it gets inside my car, I set the ventilation to inside circulation to clean out the smell. But when I get out of the car I smell the remaining from the exhaust.
Anybody got a way to avoid the smell from getting inside? or it's inevitable?

I just ordered some Berk HFCs today and this concerns me. I've heard people say the HFCs smell for a while but then it goes away.
Then I've heard HFCs smell maybe for a few secs during cold start but then again the smell goes away.
Can someone chime in please? I don't want to drive my car around and attract cops or smell like I'm running test pipes
I also want to be able to pass emissions here in Illinois

i think the people complaining about the odor are just being a teeny bit too sensitive about this
i have metallic berk hfc and yeah from time to time ill smell something but its really not that bad. I dont have to hold my breath in at all. the only time i really smell it is right after starting the car

The smell is because the cats are less restrictive but do a worse job at converting, so there is no way to get rid of it unless you put a normal cat back on the car. Most high flow cats are a 2 way catalyst vs. 3 way in an OEM one. That difference makes all the difference in pollution and smell.
BTW the smell is very noticeable to the cars behind you. So what you are smelling, cars behind are smelling 10x worse. Notice how you can smell a diesel when it's in front of you and it stinks? With high-flow cats or test pipes that is how people behind you feel. Either get used to it and hold your breathe or pull them off.
Honestly I'm not a tree huger, but the 5hp is not worth how much polluting you are doing. High flow cats pollute about 5-10x as bad as a normal cat (you will not pass smog) and no cats pollute about 100x as much as a standard cat. So for all that power which simply doesn't matter on the street you are polluting a whole crap load into the air. Again, not a tree huger, but really is that worth it?

I know my exhuast smelled like i had a grocery bag stuck to it ( burniong plastic) for well over the first week, maybe about 500 miles or so.. just mineral oil on the pipes that burns off.
i know this is an old thread.. just in case someone else searches this later with a similar problem. Dont know if they meant the egg smell of new cats or not...

I have Berk Metallic HFC as well. I never had any funny smell at all during cold start, or even after the has been completely warmed up. Could there be a leak somewhere between the seal? I think that is the only plausible possibility to the smell. Believe me, the smell is no where near when i had test pipes.
