For some good discussion on header design considerations you might want to check out http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24360 - there is some good info in this thread.

Default And the clear choice is???

OK, does anyone have any hard numbers? Dynos? First hand impressions of the Borla and Nismo headers? I have the Borla TD and couldn't be happier with it; if the headers perform the same way I'd defininately be pleased with them. The money's really not an issue I just want to get the best performing headers out now. Yeah, I know many companies have plans to make headers but I'd like to have some on my Z before the end of the month.

Another question, I know B&B makes headers for Nismo but are they the same headers that they sell as B&B. For example, does B&B make header spec 1 for Nismo and then make header spec 2 and sell as their own? Or, does B&B make one header that gets both companies names stamped on it. If the second case is true, why is everyone pushing the Nismo header when B&B is the same header and cheaper?

Any truth to what 350z4steve??? I was simply asking some questions. What news are you talking about? All I want to know is if someone can tell me definitively which header, borla or nismo, makes the most power.

As far as B&B making the Nismo headers, this has been well known for a while now. I just want to know if the headers that B&B makes for Nismo to sell are the exact same ones they sell under their B&B brand name.

B&B definitely makes the headers for NISMO, but I don't know if B&B sells their own. I don't know if they sell a different design. I doubt it if they do actually sell headers for the 350Z.

I'm going to check with them about their headers because I'd rather buy it w/o the NISMO stamp. The NISMO stamp adds too much cost.

Further thnking.....

The current NISMO header being sold is very similar in design to the headers NISMO introduced in Japan at the TAS. Maybe NISMO contracted B&B to build that header design, but B&B is not allowed to sell that header design. They might be able to sell their own headers, but it would be of a different design.

Just a thought, nothing true.

Default B&B Headers

Well here are the B&B headers for the Z, http://www.jscspeed.com/350z/exhaust/bb_headers.htm. They're not as cheap as the borlas but they are a little cheaper than the Nismos. They look very similar to the Nismos to me, anyone else??

You might want to check the Mossy Nissan 350Z post. Greg Vogel is running Borla headers, high flow cats, and Borla dual and seeing decent gains at each incremental upgrade. I believe he has dynoed the car after each bolt on. I wouln't go discounting the Borla headers just yet. At half the price and 95% the performance of the B&B/Nismo headers it might still be a great cost effective option. I think taking the cats out is the key to it all.

For those of us with Borla true dual exhaust, could someone please post dynos of:

1) Borla headers with Borla TD exhaust, and
2) Nismo headers with Borla TD exhaust.

Thanks.

I'm running Borla headers w/ Injen TD. I can tell you there is a noticable difference on the butt dyno- But haven't had time to schedule a real dyno. I'll post results when I'm able to get to the dyno.

Default Crawford Headers

I have purchased a pair and will dyno before and after install.

I currently have AEM intake, Test Pipes, Stillen Dual Exhaust on 19s. Also Zex for a little kick.

I have an 5AT and just dynoed three days ago at AAM in MD. I have the Borla TD, the nismo headers and the injen intake. My dyno showed 240.5 whp. That seems a little low, but 3 others with 6MT's were dynoed right before me with intakes and exahusts and they only showed 232-236. Do I feel the power gain with this combo? Hell yes!! I also believe that once you I add the RT cats, the car will really open up.
