If they are using your old plenum (your core) to make their "new and improved" plenum, then why is it that the stock strut bar no longer will fit? This is a BIG reason why i havent purchased this yet. The new place for the strut bar doesnt seem as sturdy (it looks moved up a little) as the stock one. Plus, you have to shell out another $200 for a new strut bar! Why couldnt they just make this work? (i love these stupid icons!)

because the part where the strut bar goes over is raised so far up that the strut bar won't fit.

infidsg35, when you order them, BE SURE you tell Doug it's for a G35 and not a 350Z. He has to put a dent on the ones for the Z for hood clearance. The G requires no such dent. BTW, you'll love the plenum.

The Crawford Plenum is almost enough to satisfy everything I was looking to do with modifications on my car performance wise. You will instantly know that the car is "breathing" better with much improved acceleration at earlier rpms. The plenum even makes the Z sound better without any other mods. The strut bar is killer and an improvement over stock. The front end dives into turns better with less body roll. I think a good complement to this mod is to open up the other end with a dual exhaust, which is my next mod. I personally think the Crawford Plenum, not the bling version, even looks nicer than the stock one. I am sure the bling version looks awesome but at that price I would want to drive around with my hood off

who are you talking to? the Crawford Z Car Service reps aren't even present on this thread. I don't think they would frown at you if you paid them $200 to keep your core.

Doug takes a loss if you keep your stock plenum. The honorable thing to do would be to at least tell him you're keeping it up front, so then if he wants, he can adjust the price so he doesn't lose money.

Agreed! Spoke with Doug today from Crawford Z (very nice guy btw) to order my Plenum and the lead time is so long due to cores not being returned. PLEASE RETURN YOUR CORES if you already have the new plenum! I WILL HELP YOU BOX IT UP!
Its really your option to keep your old one...Thats why he charges a core. But return it nonetheless! If you do I will have mine sooner! JK

If you want to keep your plenum, just pay the core fee. This does slow production, as it is one less core to work with. A couple people have elected to keep core, thats ok. Some who said they would keep theirs have changed their mind, as the replacement plenum did not look as bad as they had thought. It is not an ugly piece in person, unique but not ugly. :-)

once you get the crawford plenum, the stock engine cover will not fit, nor will the stock strut bar. crawford does offer a replacement strut bar for $200.

I took my engine cover off anyway (don't have the Crawford plenum). I think it's ugly and the engine looks better without it. Plus I can't see any way it can not be making the engine hotter.
