Megan Racing Long Tube Headers
Well i don't have megan headers on my z yet but i did buy them for my previous car, 96 accord. Now i don't know why people are bashing the quality of these headers. the megans for accords had the same flow pattern as dc headers but they were stainless steel and didn't crack. i've had experience with expensive headers on my previous cars and i always went back to megan becuase they make good products.
So if you want to know if they make good products, then yes they do....

or you know that there is better use of $225....
but if you enjoy em, then more power to ya (in a figurative sense) - gotta love those 2.25 inch outlets....mad, mad power being made there
All these threads with "my friend has", or "my boys got 'em", yet no one ever has any real insight - no one dynos before or after, no measurements taken to compare them to stock. So how is it better? Because it's shiny and arrived in a brown truck? The best you hope to get is if they do is take a video so we can all see how wicked and mad JGTC they sound - without any #'s whatsoever to back em up.
welcome to the modern iteration of my350z - if it's not stock, it must be better, right?

uuhhhhh WAT? I HAD test pipes/oem headers, i now have the megan longtubes. I think i know my own mods
People do change their setup u know lol. i was saying that people that bash on these longtubes never even seen aftermarket headers for them to talk about "QUALITY". SH*t they probly never even seen their own stock headers knowing it'll be a pain to get to.

It's tempting to try with the price but with my nismo exhaust, i'm pretty sure it will crack those easily. I'm still waiting for those SG long tubes to be produced.
I have seen too many threads about issues with Megan Racing products to even consider them. I would rather buy something that I KNOW will be reliable versus something that I HOPE will be reliable. My 2¢.
Again I'm not taking sides but Adam u have a good point. I'm not behind the headers. Ow bc of the 2.25 outlets which sucks. However if a Dyno shows gains over stock or previous setup then for 225$ that a pretty damn good deal. And yea there has been alotof threads saying MegAn tps suck however I havnt came across one that says thier headers are garbage.

Plus, what in the hell is a Skyline 350GT?
Let me guess it's called that in Japan?
Good god, the after sounds terrible. Even if they gave 30whp I would take them off because the sound in the second video (of the first link) has a weird rasp noise thats just horrid ugh..

Hello,
We are currently selling pre-production longtubes for $2480USD, as we are working on the full production headers with other manufacturers. It will still be some time before they are finished, however. A few race teams have bought our pre-production headers, and the nice thing about the pre-production headers is we can build them to your specification, whether you want them to 2.5” 2bolt flanges, or if you want the larger 2” collectors and 2” primaries or just the 1 7/8”, etc. These options will not be available with the production headers when they are produced. Thanks!

Typically I like to think my emails are kept somewhat confidential, but at least not blatantly posted on forums. That's ok.
As I mentioned in the email, unfortunately we are not MASS producing our headers yet, and as a result - the cost is very high. We are spending 75% of that price in materials and bending alone. When we have the production method efficient and sorted, which takes a lot of time and upfront money - the price will drastically come down, and we will make everyone aware. For the guys that just can't wait, that price for 30whp out of an N/A car with no other costs incurred (labour is nearly nothing, tuning is not required on a stock ECU car), the HP per dollar value is still very high.
I hope this clears things up a little bit and if you would like to get Megan longtubes by all means go for it, there are different levels that guys build their cars to, and we like to think that we specialize in high end and race car preparation. Megan longtubes might be great for a street car!

I love your SG headers Sash, but couldnt justify spending that much $$$ on pre production headers. Do you have a ballpark figure on what they might be when they do go into mass production, if you dont mind me asking?
