Y-Pipe help
Thinking of getting a used hks hi-power exhaust; around 15 k miles, couple scrapes and dings here and there for 650 without the bolts and gaskets. However, the user says the y-pipe is pretty scraped up from speed bumps.
1)What exactly does the y-pipe do for the sound of this exhaust? Im asking because if I were to change the y-pipe of the hks to say a tanabe y-pipe, how will it affect the exhaust? Deeper sound? Will it change the sound of the hks?
2) how much would a tanabe y-pipe cost?
Noob question, thanks for answering.

Question is... what does a y-pipe have to do with a true dual exhaust?
a y-pipe is just that, a Y. Goes from two inlets to one outlet.
Hopefully someone with more experience with this can help you, but I think you'd just have to spring for a new HKS pipe, if not fabricate one.
