Default re-oiling K&N drop airfilter

i must clean and re-oil my filter ,the thing that i couldn`t find the K&N filter oil in my country so i thought i look for a replacement for the oil
in K&N site :
Re-oil the filter with K&N Filter Oil. Use only K&N Filter Oil as any other form of oil can degrade the element's filtering ability. A K&N Filter will not function properly without sufficient oil and will require more frequent re-oiling of the filter's clean side in between cleanings.

is that True or marketing B/S ?
if not what should i look for in the airfilter oil to have or not have to replace the K&N filter oil ?
if ther is non ,i`m going to stock airfilter until i find one (i don`t see it worth it to order 20 $ or so oil Bottle and pay shiping to it and wait , i rather go back)

i tried something out just for the heck it - i had this old filter and i was out of the k&n oil recharge thingy. so i used the fresh engine oil to wash off the dirt. i actually took out more dirt than i usually do with the k&n cleaning solution.

i wouldnt do this to the one that's installed on the Z though.
