Default Quick and easy question (I hope)

I really hope this hasn't been asked before. I actually did do a search and couldn't find anything...

After I purchase my wheels/tires I'll be getting an exhaust and HFC. My question is:

What is the diameter of the stock piping on a 350Z? 2"? I was looking at various aftermarket catback exhaust systems and they range from 2.25" - 3" for the ones I'm interested in.

Thanks in advance.

The inside diameter is around 2.25". My calipers measured 2.3-" O.D.

Thanks guys. So wouldn't going to a larger diameter exhaust (3") benefit more than going with a system like Borla which says its 2.25"?

I am actually going to the Agency Power cat-back single exhaust, it's 3". Less weight, more hp and torque, can't beat it in IMO.

The pipe is only part of the equation. You have to look at the muffler, resonator, y-pipe setup. Also the bends in the pipe.

The factory exhaust is 60mm, or about 2.36". The inside area of two 2.25" pipes is 7.95 square inches, while a single 3" pipe is 7.07 square inches. A single pipe will have less frictional losses than 2 pipes, so the differences in area are small. I agree with Zilverstone that there are a lot of other factors to consider.
