Default Polished Intake Tube

Anyone know where I can pickup a polished intake tube for the stock box/popcharger?

They use to be for sale everywhere but I can't seem to find one anymore.

Cheers

Most don't go with metal intake tubes because they retain/transfer heat considerably more then the plastic intake tubes. Thus causing power loss by heating the intake air temprature. That's why you don't see these any more. Everyone realized this, sold thiers, and went back to either stock, or a plastic intake tube.

To be honest I never even thought of that. I was just going for a bit of an engine bay overhaul..

Hmm.. Might have to re-think the aesthetics plan now.

Not sure i really buy into the heat topic.

Most if not all the FI guys are running some form of Aluminium intake tube.

I also found a good article from AEM

That's because metal tubing won't expand under pressure, thus loosing PSI. The trade off is worth it. And also the air in FI is flowing significantly faster then NA, thus not as effected by the piping being heated by the engine.

You'd be amazed. Next time you go to a meet, feel someone's metal intake tube just after they pull in, then feel someone's plastic intake tube.

I never realized how much metal transfers and retains heat untill i got my Kinetix V+. It blew my mind!!
