Stock 370Z: 250whp

But the 370Z picks up way more power with bolt ons. For instance, high flows and cat back on a G37 yields 270whp, vs. 290whp on the 370Z. Add intake to the G37, and pick up next to nothing. Add intake to the 370Z, and you are over 300whp!
^+1 we get similar numbers on the Mustang dyno

One 370Z we did with Stillen G3 Intake, Headers, Hi Flo Cats and Exhaust got 54 RWHP increase, can't wait for the Osiris to come out for the 370Z and be able to tune it.

from what ive seen, with heatsoak they average around 275-ish, and on a cold motor around 285. there was a article on it n modified staing how sensitive the motor is to heat, and whatnot, and how the stillen intake alone added around 16whp (verified via dyno)

the 370 motor seems to respond amazingly to mods, i wonder what other bolt on s such as lightened pullies, clutch/flywheel, etc would do. also some headwork and cams (not sure how aggressive the factory headwork is on these cars), but definitely a great motor none the less

I have a quick question if you dont mind as I am in the market to either buy a G37S or a 370Z.

Being that both cars have the same drivetrain, why is there a difference in gains? Intakes I could understandsince there is a slight difference because of vehicle shape and airflow, but overall the exhaust and HFCs shouldnt really yeild such a difference in RWHP output. I know the 370Z is much shorter, so pipe length is shorter, but would that make a huge change in numbers?

So, what kind of change did they do on 370Z motor compare to the one with G37???

Those are good ballpark #'s there are plenty of people on *******.com who have done a complete bolt-on I/H/HFC/E/Pullies and make an additional 45whp

My completely uneducated guess would have to be different ECUs. One that is less restrictive and more adaptive than the other. Otherwise, I can't think of anything else.

Wow, this make modding 350Z seems to be pointless compared to 370Z

Wow... That's very impressive.

Now I've got to fight the urge not to do NA bolt-ons on my 370Z before I go FI! FAWK!!!

My guess is that the difference in the driveshafts between the Z/G could be the important factor in this. If the driveshafts of the 370Z and G37 are like the ones on the 350Z and G35... the Z uses a shorter (due to shorter wheelbase) and lighter(?) carbon fiber driveshaft, while the G has an aluminum driveshaft.
