Exclamation Need exhaust advice, may deserve an insult or 2

So I bought a turbo xs exhaust from a guy on this site. Price was great, looked good when arrived, seemed like no problems. However when the shop installed the exhaust, the muffler shot out something like insulation. THey proceeded to tell me the is muffler shot, and thats why it sounds like a cow is dying when I floor it. So while I work out something with the seller, I was think of taking the stock exhaust and adapting it to the turbo xs y pipe and b pipe...Thoughts? It would only require a $10 weld and a flange and I am really at the point of doing anything to get rid of that sound. Any advice is welcomed, and I did a search but no one has mentioned after market piping with a stock muffler.

I also have Pop charger, plenum, header, and resonated test pipes if that means anything.

If you can hook up the Y pipe to your stock midpipe and stock muffler go for it. But don't hack your perfectly good stock muffler to hook it up to a questionable midpipe.

You could regret it later.

Buy a new exhaust. Put everything else in the trash.

Unfortunately I am a college student paying my own money on top of other bills so I am not to sure about buying another exhaust. Since gains are minimal regardless of what I buy, I really like the sound of the turbo xs compaired to other systems in its price range.

Sounds like a cow is dying is the funniest **** I read all day. Sucks that you got jerked. Might have been messed up during shipping but I doubt it.

FYI, expect the stock flange to corrode rather rapidly. Anytime you mate a corrosion resistant metal like SS to mild steel (stock), the lesser of the two will degrade rapidly and at a faster rate than normal. Probably not a big deal since we're talking stock muffler section. Glad the cow finally died.

I have the TXS catback and I'm very happy with it. I love the sound and mine does not sound anything what you described. I don't have the test pipes though as that would be too loud for my taste, most likely.
