I've been here 2 years longer than you. Definitely long enough to notice the many pwnages dishes out by hraes. He's probably one of the funniest posters on this forum. Am I going to participate in this game? No.

It's not a bad thing...unless it's way overdone, like every single honda in this area. They all look identical.

One of the reasons I enjoy occassionally coming across some of your hilarious posts is that you always seem to pick on the guy that's being the @sshole of the thread. If thats me, I didn't mean to rub anyone the wrong way with the grandpa comment (according to my350z standards of course). No need to address me disrespectfully, especially since my comments weren't even directed to u.

This thread has gone OT enough and I'm not going to contribute any more to it. Sorry OP, hope searching and other contributions through this thread will help you make a decision.

How old are you guy who I wasn't referring to as grandpa, and who previously was not a part of this conversation?
I use the term "fart can" as a general term for EVERY exhaust that looks like that, regardless of its sound. Just because the ones on the Z don't normally sound as bad as the Honda, doesn't make them any better looking. There's no way I am putting ANYTHING on my car that looks even remotely similar to any part on a ratty Honda. There's just no way that I want that kind of association with such a nice car like the Z, especially from the domestic guys or people that aren't car savvy, who hardly know the difference.

I have an 03 that is bone stock other than a 3" TurboXS catback and I experienced noticable gains all through the powerband when I put the exhaust on. So I have no complaints about my 3" exhaust.

I understand the whole "N/A cars need some backpressure" theory, but as long as you're running stock cats I don't think its an issue. I've heard going to test pipes loses a lot of low-end though, so I'm not going that route. Just my .02

i have the y pipe as well. i have the non resonated version plus test pipes and headers which might be why its so loud. it's not too bad with the silencer in, but without it's painfully loud.

right on, well thanks everyone for the feed back, it helped. i think i wanna go with aam true dual, i have heard alot of good things about them. that or i was thinking about just buying 2 jic cans and running my own pipeing because i do like the dual exhaust, but dont want an H pipe. ive been told by alot of shops that its not really needed on our Z's.
