OK do you think there is any chance that you can put the side exit right BEFORE the front door?
Originally posted by dwnshift Our very first exhaust we ran was a sid exit right behind the drivers door. When we switched to a dual out the back it felt like we def had some gains............not to mention no more flatened exhaust...you will kill it on curbs.
On my WS6 TA I ran straight headers all the way back and it exited right b4 the rear drive axel (sp). It flowed through a cutout, when I didnt want it loud I would just close it up. Definatley not reccomended if you have an auto.
They make electric cutouts. Some of the LS1 guys have it b/c they are scared of the cops.
We all ready did it about a year ago. On this motor in a NA application.....the longer the exhaust the better. Witha side exit you will not be doing any favors.
Originally posted by peptidbond I have never seen this before (I CALL PATENT), so I am not sure if it would even work. However, it seems better than the summit piece and better than an electronic control. Essentially, it opens when needed most and otherwise remains closed.
It works, and many nice car makers have been doing it for years. The new Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale has it, the exhaust opens up at 4000rpm and provides a boost in power and sounds way different. It's pretty crazy sounding, especially when you're in the car!
