Default Why did they do this?

Ok i found this guy selling a nismo s tune cat exhaust...
but the mid pipe was missing that thing on it "not sure name of part"
I was wondering why they did this..... also is this bad for the exhaust? will it make it real load?
here is the link to the mid pipe.
Thanks

Looks like the resonated part was replaced with a straight pipe. Why? Suppose to be more air flow. The exhaust is louder now

Looks like a piece of pipe with a missing resonator. Are you buying or is this an academic question?

Thinking of buying the exhaust.... but i was wondering why it does not have the resonator.. do they sell the mid pipe by itself?

If you are shopping for a cat back exhaust, I recommend that you buy a new cat back exhaust not used bits and pieces

Any local muffler shop can add resonator for you.
