Rasp was invented by Honda in the early 90's to scare domestics into thinking that all of that noise meant that they had power. Other import manufacturers soon followed suit.

Thanks, that seems to be a common theme here... this place used to be more helpful and less full of crap.

yes, your 55 posts and join date of last year tells me you know what is was like 'back in the day'.

yes because its impossible for me to have been lurking around here reading before creating a username and posting...

I try to maintain quality over quantity, something you don't seem to get.

that could be the case, but this thread is in clear opposition to your statement.

if you had been lurking you would know this question gets posed like 50 times a year. especially 'back in the day' when **** was still new.

if it actually had been answered 50 times a year I would have thought the search feature would have found such posts.

please direct me to these and I'll delete my thread. I just wanted to be informed.

but dude, you were spot on, first go. you obviously had read a thread before... no one could have come up with the logical reasons you did otherwise.

I personally was lost until I read the myriad papers out there on the subject. The revelation I had when I found Google was - I assume - what people feel like when if/when they discovered the Jesus and a dinosaur going at it in their backyard.

ok well thats what I wanted to hear... I guess its possible I came to this conclusion by reading threads, but in my effort to confirm it (after personally experience it) I wasn't able to find anything directly related to what I wanted to know.
