Default Test Pipe Choice TODAY! Megan/IntensePower....

Ok Ive been debating resonated test pipes and searching and reading for the last two weeks but I want to order them TODAY hoping to install them this weekend!! I was pretty much sold on the Intensepower ones when I found out TopSecret actually made them which is a big plus, the only downfall is I heard the 02 bungs are welded so that the sensors are kind of pointed towards the ground?? I saw that Megan actually made a new version of their RTPs with a flex pipe in them which should help out with all the cracking issues, Im currently running a Bassani TD Catback but want more volume...whats your opinions??

I think there is a 90degree attachment at the o2 sensor bung that you can buy
(so that it isn't pointing toward the ground). Sorry, I don't have a link - I'm sure you know what to do.

I guess the new V2s are suppose to be very nice since the flex pipe is in there, Megans have good reviews on sound as well...

I run Z1 (the one in GA)......they cost about the same as the megans and other cheap ones, but are 2.5" ID. The megans, intense are either 2" ID or 2.25".

top secret has nothing to do with either of these, so you're definitely mistaken there

ichiba does nice, cheap resonated test pipes with 2.25" ID, 2.5" OD, nice thick flanges too

as in Top Secret in japan? sorry to say, but you're mistaken. If they were made by top secret, then they'd be sold as top secret, and they'd be something like 700 bucks per inch

Well I've read so many conflicting reviews on them, I figured for as cheap as these TPs are I should just give em a shot

Well I finished install at my shop about an hour ago...Fitment and finish on these things was pretty damn good, I will have to admit I was not so thrilled about the fitment mating up to the stock cats and these TPs from my Bassani cat-back but that is the issue with Bassani NOT Megan...I fired her up and I was like WOW! I wanted my exhaust louder and HOLY SH*T it was louder, I pulled it out to the parking lot and launched in first gear, I went from very happy to very disappointed in a split second...Nothing but rasp!! I was like hmmm, I wonder if they need to warm up a bit....I live about 5-10 minutes from my shop and I would say half way home it started to actually change exhaust note, the rasp was pretty much gone and it was an amplified version of what I had before, actually sounds pretty decent...well I am going to eat some dinner and clean up then go for a ride around town and test it out...Only issue I have now is that my BRAKE light on the dash is constantly lit??!!

How do they sound now? Still raspy? I'm thinking of making the switch to Res. Test Pipes, myself. I have HFCs now.

They are a little raspy, but most of it goes away after driving for a little, slight rasp at WOT, but I also think I have a leak at the flanges
