Default K&N FIPK intake system????

Hi guys
I am about to get intake system. personally i like K&N FIPK but i don't know if its worth to spend $300+ for K&N intake or should i get JWT pop-charger? is it any better than pop-charger? K&N claims there will be 10.67HP gain???!!!
I have 2005 350z non-rev model.
any thought would be helpful
Thank you

Quite honestly, I personally wouldn't even spend that much on it... I don't think it's worth it... I think a simple K&N drop in filter in the stock airbox(And maybe an airduct in the bumper...) would do the job... ...I got a generic CAI intake I wanna get rid of, maybe you can throw a K&N cone filter on it if you want to... LoL

no intake is worth that much money. no intake gives you any gains near what the manufacturer claims it does. get a JWT or buy one of those other kits used from others that realized the same thing. but they do look pretty and sound decent.

Told ya OP!

From what I've read is that the Z's intake is well desined and well built, and there really isn't much improvment to be made... That's why i ditched the CAI's and Shortrams and went back to stock with a K&N drop in...

OP, i wouldn't even bother with a K&N drop in. You aren't even gonna get close to outflowing your factory airbox/filter unless you go FI, and even then you'll probably still be ok. All you are doing with a K&N is letting in more dirt, and in some cases, killing your MAF sensor because of the oil.

If you really want to put in a drop in, go with a dry flow (Non oil filter) drop in like Amsoil and AEM makes.

What does 'FI' mean ?
I know a lot of people using K&N drop in filter with stock air box.
are you sure about "K&N is letting in more dirt, and in some cases, killing your MAF sensor because of the oil. " ?

now im considering to get it or not

You have been a member since March and don't know what FI means? I will be nice on this one though, it stands for forced induction(turbos & superchargers). I really hope you were being sarcastic though and even if you weren't say that you were.

I was actually reading an article where a group of people tested a whole bunch of drop ins, and K&N was the worst for clogging, air flow and duration before it had to be swapped/cleaned and a few other things. First in prettymuch everything was AC Delco... I'll try to find the article

2006 airbox + k&n drop in is the best setup for non-revup

i have been on these forums for some time now and that is what i am running. i am very happy with this setup. i have run the gambit on intakes and this is by far the best imo and most others on this site

O.K!!!! K&N is Out.!! i mean i think they exaggerated about the actual gain in HP.
Nismo intake is not worth the money. i am thinking about POP-CHARGER. I read somewhere Pop-charger will rub the power. is that right?

what is so bad about a k&n drop-in filter? your not going to find much of a power gain in an intake system over the stock air box...specifically the 06...very good design. the k&n filter is the most practical, reusable, high quality filter with good flow characteristics to use with the 06 stock airbox.

please show me where k&n filters are bad and allow dirt and have less flow...please provide facts here not bullsh1t.

f'n newbs

I don't think anyone was questioning that the K&N will provide more flow. The real question is how good a job it does in actually filtering. I've read a lot about it and I have enough concerns about it's filtering ability that I've stayed with a paper filter. Having said that, I do have a K&N intake and filter on another vehicle.
