Question Exhaust Help/Suggestions

I just bought the Stillen exhaust used from someone locally. It seems to be missing the pipe from the cat to the resonators....

^ that pipe in the front of the car was not included in the exhaust.

Is that a Y - Pipe?

He actually did the install for me and it does sound good.

Will it hurt anything if I leave it the way it is with the stock pipe? Basically, after cats is the stock Y pipe then the Stillen exhaust with the mid pipe resonators and mufflers. I understand that the stock Y pipe has a smaller diameter than the exhaust? It is also said that it is the most restrictive part of the exhaust.... I've heard that it's ok to run it like that but the other way around it would negatively affect back pressure?

Will my set-up suffice? I just forked over some cash for it and now I'm a little disappointed that it didn't come with it...

Any suggestions? I might end up purchasing a different Y pipe...

Thanks,

Adam

Yes. THe pipe you are describing is the OEM y-pipe. It will be fine. Later you might replace it with a aftermarket pipe.

it wont hurt, just make sure you didnt get screwed and pay for the non-included y-pipe.

Thanks... I'll be looking for an aftermarket Y-Pipe.. I'm going to call Stillen tomorrow and see how much they can sell the y pipe for.

I got a pretty good deal on the exhaust and he actually installed it for me so I didn't take that much of a hit. I would have lowered my offer if I knew it didn't come with the Y-Pipe but it was a good deal regardless.

I just don't want any complications with back-pressure, etc...

Thanks for the info..
