The O2 wire hangars on the AT needed to be moved forward one bolt hole and it was better off just zip tie-ing the wires so they wouldn't get close to the pipes.

Thanks for the info now I know what to look for when installing. I'm just waiting for the test pipe comparison before I buy I already have test pipes.

If they give me more down low and across the board over test pipes I will get a set.

these are test pipes? If so, why do they quiet down the exhaust over the hfc's?

I'm looking to increase my exhaust sound, so for me hfc's are the way to go if ark pipes quiet the exhaust???

Congrats to the OP and the installer - nice to have both post up. Stevehl, I think the resonance chamber quiets things up a bit. The motordyne tdx exhaust with exchangeable axle back options will let you go from mild to wild in 10 mins.

Because of the design. Look at them.

If you want loud, get Motordyne's single outlet race exhaust and their Shockwave ))) Y-pipe, though I don't know why being louder is cooler.

I can understand that some people will want it louder.
The most fun I ever had with an exhaust was with the ShockWave))) on test pipes.... which is about as loud as you can get. Its fun to watch how pedestrians react when driving by. But then again, I don't like it that way all the time either.

I'll switch the exhaust over to the VQ and I'll be very content with the tranquil silence. (for a while). Then I'll get the itch and put on the V2 or Nova and then I'll be happy with that.

I definitely like loud, but being able to change it at will (at least for me) is my overall preference.

yes, louder is cooler :/

I like the sound of my exhaust, but I just want it a little louder. If I thought louder was cooler I would get something like the agency power with long tude headers.

I just saw the vid clip, and to me, it sounds like the ark pipes sounded louder than with hfc's on. Is it just the vid?

The comparative loudness of ART pipes and aftermarket cats are fairly close but they each have a different tone.
And the ART pipes are clearly not as loud as regular test pipes.

Although I agree that ART pipes to normal TP's would be a better comparison, I wouldn't go so far as to say hfc's and art pipes are apples to oranges. They both replace the stock cats and free up the exhaust, making it louder and giving you performance gains. They both even cost similar, lol. Someone who's in the market for HFC's can definitely be swayed to getting the ART pipes instead.

I have to agree...I love seeing these dyno's anyways but testpipes vs. ART pipes are key here.

rasp and loudness is what kept me away from TP and pushed me towards HFCs. Now I can get the best of both worlds!

+1 on this.

Rasp and volume are exactly why I didn't get test pipes in the first place. Now I can get much better performance and better sound for a very similar price.

high flow cats = $500
ART = $600 -200 for review with dyno is $400...

I will admit they are expensive for TP but they are not regular TP... notice they have the o2 bung extended so no CEL thats worth something. Also they look like they require more fab than any other TP and HFC Ive ever seen, so its hard to make them cheaper.

I've never been a fan of polished headers/test-pipes, or front/mid exhaust... anything you will never see basically, just seems like a waste unless you are a show car.

i have berk test pipes and they have extenders built in so there is no ses light at no extra charge and also have bungs for wideband gauges for no extra charge, and they are much cheaper, i am waiting to see gains on paper that i could not get with these test pipes to see if it would really be worth it for me to make the change...I have no rasp now with my setup so that is not pursuading me any
