Default Installed my md copper 5/16 spacer...

Did this yesterday. Car was stock prior.

I added the Tanabee exhaust and Plenum spacer along with a basterdized AEM cai which i reduced to a sri.

First off, The car idles nicely after install and it was done according to instructions.

The added torque is noticeable down low up until 5k-6k where she seemed to run out of breath.

The added pull was nice down low but almost at 5k and beyond was no longer linear.

Shouldn't the opposite occur cruising at highway speeds or should I give the Ecu time to adjust some more?

I know there is controversy about this but... After my exhaust and 5/16 spacer I disconnected the neg off the battery overnight to "reset" the ECU. That way it adjusts properly to the new mods. My butt dyno said, win! But like I said there is controversey if it really works or not. Also to get the the most out of any mod(s). I reccomend a tune. Of course this should be done lastly, so you dont waste your monies!

The battery cable was disconnected for the job and done correctly.

An osiris tune will follow once i add the rest of my mods.

I was just curious at this point b/c it shouldn't run out of steam at those early rpms when it was pulling nicely in the lower.

Ok, but if it reset your ECU or not is another story. It takes time. The 30 min it takes to install a spacer won't do it. But still it shouldn't run out of steam at 5k. Good luck.

Also, what exhaust do you have? I was reading on this forum that dyno's prove tanabe loses top end power. Also test pipes/hfc's will greatly improve top end.

I've got the Tanabe Medallion touring.

I researched before purchasing and found no dyno's of this exhaust on a DE, or that it mentioned a loss of top end.

Its pointless now, if after Y-pipe/Hfc and Tune, Im sure the dynamic will change for the better.
