I saw another thread where someone said that a Cusco STB will clear a 5/16 or 1/2 in spacer without any additions to the strut tower bar. Is this correct?

I don't know about the Cusco. I know people are using them with the spacer but I've never installed the combo myself.

I have the 5/16th spacer. originally with the OEM hood, I used some small near half inch spacers to get the strut tower brace above the engine comfortably without any contact or vibration. when I got my seibon ts hood I couldn't find a happy middle ground - either the bar hit the plenum or it was too high for the hood to close. I tried three different sizes of spacers for the strut tower brace with no success.

ordered a stillen strut tower brace. I thought about trying the cusco, gt spec, nrg or any other flat style one, but figured it would be hassle if I had to return it.. so I'll just get one that goes in front of the plenum.

if you are at all curious... APS, crawford and stillen strut tower braces all go in front of the plenum. aps and crawford don't make them though and you'd either need a special order or someone that randomly has one in stock.
