Not sure what there is to reimburse, Jeff was only charged 5 hours labor. We are his dealer and he knows that we stand behind him as well as Nissan. Nissan will take care of anything we need to do to make the customer happy. We have stopped selling the headers until the problem is addressed. I personally cant wait for the Crawfords. Jeff is a little more conservative than me and wants to know he is covered by warranty if anything should happen. believe me Nissan is aware of the problem...

It sounds like I must have been lucky. I didn't have any problems with mine. When did you guys buy yours? I wonder if there was a bad batch.

We just finished installing a new set of Nissmo headers in a customers Nissan 350Z - they did not even come close to fitting properly. A far cry away from the quality of the Borla's.

Goes to show some of the aftermarket companies are doing more R&D / Testing than Nissan. Hopefully this clearly seen problem will help calm things down with the Supercharger and other debates, as Nissan itself seemed to drop the ball really bad here.

You missed my point, I meant for NISMO to reimburse the customers for additional labor cost of removing and reinstalling headers that fit...I was told by a dealer that a INJEN intake and exhaust voided my warranty on my whole car...But I guess NISMO headers that rub your steering rack keep your warranty intact...You friggin NISSAN dealers crack me up....

I know this is no consulation for those of us on this thread.... but, I just got through having a set of Nismo headers and random Cat's put on one on my customers cars. The new headers are no problem at all. I can stick my fingers between the steering shaft and header now!!

Well that sounds like NISMO made a boo boo and corected it on the new ones..The thing is will they admit it to the public and send new ones to the people with problems...Maybee you can make a few calls Jeff@performance nissan and see what strings you can pull for the people with the problem...I can not see driving a car with $1300 dented headers an acceptable remedy to an obvious design flaw..Some one get this ball rolling with NISMO....

Hello to all,
I will post my experience here. I am the one who had the nismo headers installed on the silver 350Z in MD. I just got home from picking it up and let me tell you, when I started the car up, I was pretty pissed. Vibration all around the steering wheel and loud too. It seems as though the headers are still rubbing against the steering column and when the car is at idle, the entire steering wheel from within the car vibrates, annoying as hell. I hear some other noises that come and go as well that are concerning me. The guys busted their *** for 2 full days at the shop installing them. These flawed headers did not even come close. Nismo is all to blame here. I cannot believe they created a header that doesn't fit and just put it on the market to **** people over especially after $$$$$ were spent installing them.

In response to the comments made about the labor associated with my problem headers, my Nissan dealer in Libertyville, IL has been excellent to deal with regarding this matter. They have spent many hours trying to rectify the situation. In fact, if you're in the market for any service, parts etc. for your Z or any other Nissan's you might own, and you're in the Chicagoland area, make sure you check this dealership out. Especially, Tim Hayes. He has gone out of his way to service me from the very beginning.

The issue with me remains with NISMO. We should not have to bang our headers with a hammer or crow bar to make them work. A new driver side header should be given to all with problems on their left hand side.

Don't get down on the local Nissan dealers. Jeff at Performance Nissan and Doug at Crawford are class individuals as well. And no, I do not work for Nissan.

Jeff at performance is the man first of all...Second I was suggesting that NISMO reimburse the customers for the cost of re-installing the defective header..thats all..First step is to make sure as many people as possible see this thread and letting some one at NISMO know this thread exists. If they dont step ut to rectify the problem then they are fools and will lose alot of business as a result of this thread..

Just got word from my Nissan dealer that I am getting a new driver side header from NISMO (a reengineered one that won't touch the driving column). I think the recall has begun.

Default Same problem on new headers

I just got the Nismo headers, flywheel and stillen exhaust installed yesterday and the vibration is still a problem. I'm heading back over to see what my local dealer can do. For those that have these headers, you know how annoying it is!

Sorry to hear that. The Nismo Header's you got were from the first batch that had this problem I am guessing.

NISMO is aware of the problem now.

Did you buy these from your local dealer?

Jason,

I bought the NISMO Headers from Jeff at Performance. I have not installed them yet due to this potential problem. Do you think Jeff or Performance Nissan will exchange the headers for the fixed ones? I bought them back in 9/03.

Thanks.

got them from the local dealer here in Orlando, although they had to order these. I'm guess they could have been from a warehouse somewhere. So far the local dealer has been great, but I'll update on what happens when I go back in.
