Default help motordyne spacer install

Hey guys...so I just installed my motordyne 5/16 ISO thermal spacer..but I left my stock gasket in with the new spacer , the directions said it was optional to leave it in, any reason I should take it out or should I leave it in. Would I. Gain more by taking it out? Thanks for the help

The aramid gasket comes with the isothermal spacer which costs a little more. When I installed mine, I did it just because I wasn't gonna not use what I payed for. It's pretty easy to do..just some bolts, lift it up, and swap em out. Motordyne says it helps cool down the air put idk..just do it.

OP is talking about the OEM gasket that separates the plenum cover from the lower collector...

Yes, you can leave it in. No, it won't make any kind of performance difference. I left mine in, so that if I ever wanted to go back to stock, for whatever reason, I'd know where the OEM one is...

^That's it right there.

If you ever need to sell your car, you can take the spacer out and still have the stock gasket to make the seal. Then you can sell the spacer online to get a good portion of your money back.

This is the reason for making it optional.
