Default Custom Exhaust

So I got to thinking about a cheap alternative route to a TDE. Has anyone ever heard of a Z owner with dual Magnaflow (or Flowmaster) units with turndowns immediately following the cats? I figure this should relieve exhaust pressure while still retaining some for the NA motor. Would also be lightweight and should hold a good tone.

"cheap" should never be used when talking about the Z. Plus it may even cost you more than buying one depending on how much the shop charges, how much the materials are and how many times you redo it. You also wont know how it sounds until its all done. If you are looking for a non pricey exhaust I suggest you search the marketplace, youll find a lot of nice exhausts for decent prices.

Yea I was looking around on that too. Im kinda hesitant to throw a compact race muffler with a turndown on or a glasspack and turndown. I had an idea for a custom Magnaflow setup that would run the entire length with dual outlet also. And theres also the option of picking up my friends Borla. At the moment Im just considering all my options and reaching out to see if anyones heard of anyone whos chosen those routes.

Regardless, I think a race muffler with turndowns after the cat could be pretty intense. I just wish someone already took the chance and could tell me their results haha

I probably wont. Theoretically it should make good numbers but I dont think I could bring myself to do that for a car that I dont bring to the track often, in not once since I blew up my Subaru and got the Z. The custom Magnaflow is probably going to be the path I take. Unless I can get my hands on that Borla

I was strongly considering them. I was looking at Megans Drift Spec also but it looks kind of tacky from the side. Still trying to get ahold of my friend for that Borla TDE
