Default Repaired and modded :)

So Saturday i Replaced my passenger side valve cover and gasket, drivers side valve cover gasket. I installed the motordynce 5/16 plenum spacer and iso thermal. Cleaned out the throttle body, mass air flow, upper manifold and lower manifold thoroughly. Installed the jwt pop charger and heat shield. Tested it out late Saturday night after i finished WHOA what a difference. Feels like a 20hp increase on the butt dyno VERY HAPPY.

Sunday i installed my M2 Performance(hks replica exhaust, Ichibia Resonated test pipes and my Tein H tech springs and Tokico Hp blue struts with all new mounts and rubbers Oem. Car handles great and feels better then when it was new. I def feel gain from the test pipes and exhaust up top and feel a slight loss in the low end. Gonna go out to Long island Suffolk county, new york and try and get a tune i don't have engine management but from reading i can do uprev or osirus for around $500. Overall im very happy with the results and cant wait for the tune hope to gain some of the low end back and some more up top.

My z has 120k so i did some serious maintenance and upgraded things while i was at it. I never worked on a car until 3 weeks ago when i did my plugs and 3 coil packs. I made no mistakes followed instructions properly and bought a good quality torque wrench. torqued everything to spec and in sequence. Patience not one error in the process. Only thing i had to do was tighten up the Pcv valve after I installed the valve cover cause it wasn't torqued down enough.

Good work. Working on a car is a lot of fun, and very rewarding. There's nothing like performing a mod by yourself and reaping the benefits.

thats awesome

i love hearing when people take on working on their car when they've never done it and are patient, successful, and love the outcome - and to top it off gain some confidence to do it yourself! Nice!

also, you're screwed now because it probably won't stop there!

Wow thats actually a good write up as well.

I have a small leak on one of my valve covers. How hard was that to actually do? I saw a huge write up on it one time. I hear the baffles actually need to be replaced or RTV'd because they actually don't come apart?

Thanks guys i am proud i got it done without screwing it up and def saved some money . thanks to all the forum members and all you supportive guys. Hope your right about the Osiris. I am going to make and appointment this week for a dyno tune. This weekend i am going to do the hub bearing and a get a good alignment. And i am on the search for some cheap 2006 and up dual piston calipers and rotors to upgrade my 2003 single piston. At one point i was really nervous when i actually looked how many things i removed lol. I got a lil frustrated but i calmed my self down and just said if the guy at the gas station could do this then why cant I lol.

Demetri it wasn't that hard but time consuming especially if you never done it before. But i did extras in the process. If your some what mechanically inclined and take your time by the proper tools you should be alright. Don't skimp out buy a torque wrench download the service manual remove and reinstall in sequence and torque properly in increments to avoid leaks. I replaced the valve cover and gasket because i found oil in the plugs on the passenger side. And replaced the drivers side gasket since i was there anyway. If you don't have any oil on your plugs but just have oil around the valve cover you just need to replace the gasket. But if you can replace the whole cover while your there. Theirs 1 bolt on the passenger and driver that's hard to get to. You need a universal joint unless you can figure out how to get the engine wire completely out the way. If you can do this your self it will give you the confidence to tackle other things at least for me. Do some research and look at some of the tutorials. I looked threw some here and on g35 driver. But just used the nissan service manual when i did the job. DO the spacer and iso thermal since you gotta remove the lower and upper manifold anyway. And the motordyne kit comes with nice instructions and torque sequence
