For those of you that are curious about the power levels, here is the same graph as above but with the addition of your standard VQ35DE non revup with I/H/E and tune.

What kind of power would they make with i/e/tune?

Are you saying 258 or is that with standard shorties?

i think a test was done on a non rev up with stock cams, and the power bump was small

with a more aggressive cam you would see bigger power gains from these headers

Damn 100whp gain with that built motor. Do you have 4.01 gears? Would blow a 400whp turbo setup out of the water easily.

Lots of people can't seem to distinguish between expensive and overpriced...there is a difference.

I know first hand what is involved in building a set of headers using the quality of materials that are used in these, and the labor involved in manufacturing even a single set. These are expensive yes, but the price is very much inline with what it would be if you had a custom, one off set done locally by a respected header builder.

20black350z - Kooks is now down in your neck of the woods. One of the best header makers in the world. Give them a call, and ask them how much it would be to do a set of long tubes for your car (car would have to be left with them for a few days to build 'em). I'd bet the costs will be similar to what is involved here.

A local muffler shop in South jersey wanted 3000 for a set of headers with all burns parts. Its definately expensive, and the gains aren't garanteed if you don't have a matching head, cam, tune combo. This is a great deal for people who prefer to stay N/A.

People don't mind spending 1200 for an exhaust which will give you 5-10hp at MOST. This can have upwards of 40whp with the proper head, cam, fuel and tuning.

$3000 isn't that bad when one considers what Burns charges for piping, bends and merges.

its not, but those pieces are tested to work with the Z. My point was, this is a expensive, but its shown to be effective at making power.

I agree on their rev up pretty much full bolt on they got something like +29hp and +20 tq. Once these are out and there are more dynos avail to confirm these gains I am pretty sure a lot of people like me want more power without messing with FI will be more than happy to pay $2000 if we really get +29hp/+20 at the wheels.

edit: just read the other thread... I wonder if they ever figured out why they only made 9hp on the non-rev up engine.
