Default Catalytic Converters

Hey guys,

Sorry if this is a complete noob questions, but I want to increase the sound of my exhaust, and instead of putting on test pipes, or hfc, which are illegal in ca, I was wondering if anyone makes aftermarket catalytic converters that are legal, but still produce a louder sound. I don't know if thats possible, but just wondering since I don't want to put on test pipes or hfc. I only came across oem cats and no aftermarket cats. Sorry for the dumb questions, just asking. Thanks.

Be a man and put on test pipes. Put the oem cats back on when you have to get inspected

Leave the cats in place. If you want to change the sound of your exhaust, put a different cat-back on. Don't mess with the cats just for sound, that seems really ***-backwards.

Just my $.02

Berk Metallic substrate HFC's. Spun catalytic converters, OBDII & 49 state compliant.

I guess CA is the one state there not compliant. LOL

This illegal exhaust stuff in Ca isn't really bad... just don't drive like an asshat. Just keep your stock parts in case you need to get your car checked. It'll make everything easy for you.

3 to 5 in the big house for tampering with the exhaust. You decide if it is worth it?

judging from the responses i guess there is no aftermarket cat other than test pipes and hfc. I do not want test pipes, as they tend to rasp. And I don't want to get another exhaust, I like the way my current exhaust looks and sounds. I just want the sound a tad bit louder, not a different exhaust style/note.

i might just go ahead and get resonated test pipes. Hfc's are too expensive, and im afraid it might not make the exhaust loud enough. Either way, hfc or test pipe, they are illegal in ca haha. Have any of you ca people gotten a ticket for test pipes or hfc? How much is it? Or do they really take your car??
