Injen CIA=missing at Idle
installed Injen CIA about 2 monthes ago and imediatly noticed an erratic idle (yes i diconected the battery). This is simply not worth the minamal HP gains so I decided to remove it and take my losses.
Before doing this I thought I'd try the shorty set-up and see what would happen. Well, it idles perfectly now and sounds way better because you can here the intake now.
On top of this my seat of the pants impression is that it actually makes more power. Of course its 32 degrees out side and the tires are cold, fun trying to get traction with VDC off.

Ooops, CIA , my bad, what a dork.
Anyway, the missing is like this. It idles smooth, tach needle remains steady for about 10 to 15 seconds and then will suddenly drop a couple hundred RPM and the engine will sputter for a couple of seconds and then come out of it, and then do it all over again.
Never did this before the Injen, and now that I have the short ram set up (Injen MAF still retained) it idles smooth as glass.

I have, er, had the same problem with the Injen CAI. I don't know how or why but the problem disappeared after switching my motor oil. I just noticed it today while standing at the rear of the car chatting with work buddies while the car was warming up. Before it was quite noticeable at the exhaust tips...normal idle/rumble then cut out briefly with a gurgle then resume normal idle, repeat. Tonight, the idle was smooth and I mentioned it to my buddies about the problem i noticed before with the Injen during 4k miles (had regular dealership oil when installed, switched to Mobil1 with same problem) of driving and how it's gone and the only thing i changed was my motor oil and filter last saturday.
I switched to Motul 300V Power 5W40 Synthetic with a Mobil1 oil filter.
Going to re-evaluate tomorrow after my 40 min commute to confirm.
I have no idea how or why this would make a difference besides Motul themselves touting low volatility and low evaporation. But if it works for me, I'm going to stick with it.

I have a g35c. I took the injen CAI off for the same reason. when I came to a stop light the car would idle really rough.
did you have the piece made for for your CAI to make it a short stack?
I'm waiting for a 9 inch straight tube that I had custome made. It goes from 3 and half inches to 3 inch so then I can just use the injen CAI as a short stack during the rain season.

I have this same problem and caused my Service Engine Soon lamp to come on. Because of this problem, I don't autostart my car after the engine is fully warmed up. I'm going to email Injen and let them know that I'm not the only one having this problem.

Mine is doing the same thing. I put on the full CAI and the SES.
I notice it at the tach and hear it standing outside next to the exhaust.
I will check the connections this weekend. I have not re-checked anything since installing 3 months ago.
