I am thinking about getting custom exhaust on my 03 350Z. I checked ebay and I can order a single SLP loudmouth 1 or 2 resonator with a 3 inch inlet and outlet. It would be pretty cheap to have an exhaust shop make a 3 inch catback and throw the resonator on there. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts/opinions on how it would sound?

I think there are some pretty reasonably priced exhausts out there made of quality material with quality workmanship, even made in the U.S. The hangars will fit, everything will bolt right up, they have been tested and approved by Z owners, and you don't have to worry about anything.

You are looking at doing something as cheaply as possible. Who knows what kind of results you will get? For the cost of doing a questionalbe new exhaust, you could go on the FS boards and pick up something pretty nice lightly used. Just a few thoughts.

The reason in doing it isn't to be as cheap as possible. If i don't go with this idea, I've already decided on the single 3 inch titanium AAM exhaust. I have installed this exhaust on my friends mustang and I have seen it on a cobalt SS. I haven't seen it on any car where it didn't sound amazing. I realize the two engines I have mentioned aren't a VQ, but I would like to know what it would sound like. It is really just a thought, and I wanted some opinions on it.

i say do it. If u can get all installed for cheap and it comes put bad then u saved urself a lot of money

The only people telling me this is a bad idea is you and Kram. Majority of the people that have posted here just say its gonna be loud as hell. If you could give me a reason you think its such a bad idea I might stop talking about it. Just saying "Its a bad idea, don't do it" really isn't going to convince me not to.
