Default 350z Godspeed catback exhaust review

Price: A+ only $400.00 shipped to my door!
Quality: A
Craftsmanship: A
Fitment: A-
Look: A+
Sound: ... Absolutely insufferable!

They need to make a new letter on the grading scale for me to rate this... I suggest "I" for "INEXCUSABLE"! I've never heard such garbage in my life! I have a 97 grand prix gt for a daily runner... the muffler rusted off of last winter... this exhaust system sounds no different than that did. It takes away the high revving, quiet, sports car sound that the stock exhaust has... and makes it sound like a grandma car that some punk kid hacked the exhaust off of.

As soon as I started the car after installation... I knew I was in trouble... I took it for a quick spin anyway, turned around after one block and hid it in the garage so no one knew that the disgusting sound was coming from my 350z.

This morning I decided I would give it a second chance and I drive it the 20 miles to work... I turned around half way and brought it back home and got my other car... its so bad that I was willing to be late for work rather than suffer that embarrassing sound!

I knew I was taking a chance on this for the price... but when I saw the quality of it when I opened the box, and the fitment was near perfect... I really thought I had made a good choice.

I've learned my lesson... stock exhaust is going back on tonight! I hope this review prevents others from making the same mistake.

definitely listen to soundclips before buying an exhaust, most times if the price is too good to be true, it must be. Hopefully you'll find an exhaust tone to your liking, if you need help just send me a PM

I listened to a boat load of clips... audio is always crap and never does any justice... didn't think it would sound this bad though... you live and you learn!

What did you expect from a crappy $400 exhaust system by a company named "Godspeed"? I paid more than that for mine used, lol.

I was a victim of the HKS replica's as well. Mine was labeled TopSpeed, cost me 375.00, had it on for about a month or two and had to replace it. The droning at cruising speeds drove me nuts. I wound up selling it and buying an INVIDIA Dual system and couldn't be happier. Do your self a favor and spend the extra dollars on a quality name brand dual setup. You'll be much happier.

What do you expect from a company that is a spin off of Megan.

So far i've seen one of there swaybars break after 1 month of street driving and their camber arms fold during a slide on the track ( the car never went into the dirt)

i have the same exhaust as you OP, I found the exhaust to be well worth the money! Everything was top notch with my system, I even went ahead and installed test pipes. Sorry yours didn't work out for you.

it doesnt drone anymore than my hks exhaust on my 240 did, and i added a pop charger and a kinetix plenum the other day and it really smoothed out the sound, i love this exhaust, i guess i might just be one of the lucky ones

How exactly does an exhaust "break in"? Seems like you just got used to the sound

OP, what was your exact problem with the exhaust was it too much drone, rasp, or something else?

I hear this term used often and it doesn't make any sense since an exhaust has no moving parts.

idk, it just starts to sound differerent after a while, kinda like it sounds different after it warms up, i read somewhere that its after the oil and grease on the inside of the pipe burn off
