Thumbs up Has anyone combined Fujitsubo Exhaust + Motordyne XYZ Pipe?

Just curious if anyone's combined the Fujitsubo exhaust with the Motordyne XYZ pipe and what the results were.

If you did, would you have any sound/video clips? I'm interested in trading/selling my Fast Intentions exhaust, buying this exhaust and possibly using this combo vs the Fujitsubo Y pipe

Thanks in advance

well i still have the stock y-pipe, but i do have the fujitsubo legalis r exhaust. I love it. I bought it used here on the forum and the previous owner had the resonator taken out of the midpipe and had a piece of pipe put in. he said that the fuji was barely louder than stock, which is a claim that fuji makes, more power without more sound. without the resonator, it sounds amazing. being a full can muffler like stock, makes it louder when you put your foot into it, yet is pretty much not audible at highway speeds. i recently put resonated test pipes on because i felt it was not loud enough in low rpm's. test pipes really livened up the car, although i do admit there is some rasp at 3k rpm. i love my exhaust. sounds good, can still be quiet for my 30 min commute, and looks damn good.

I am in the process of purchasing Motordyne ART pipes, XYZ pipe with resonator, and the Fujitsubo Legalis-R for my 08 Z. I'll post videos when done.

I'm definitely in for the results! I'll be watching this thread closely. What do you guys think of this Y pipe as a potential combo pipe to use....

New Y Pipe....

Inlets: 2.5"
Outlets: 3"

Is this a good match or should I look elsewhere?

Did the test pipes really make the difference in noise level after you had them installed?

Right now I'm using Berk HFCs and I can say having them definitely makes my Fast Intentions exhaust louder than using it with stock cats.

Its not night and day loud but its louder and more exotic sounding than the stock exhaust for sure.

My question is...how much louder is the Fuji with test pipes or HFCs? Is there a sound volume/pitch difference using the exhaust with its own Fuji Y pipe instead of using our stock Y pipe?

I have a Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust and I'm running a stock Y pipe. Another Canadian member I know (BWK) is running the motordyne xyz pipe. Not much of a sound difference but I'm sure he's making some modest gains... I know he had his car dyno'd recently. You may want to send him a pm to get more first hand info...

IMO the Fujitsubo and XYZ make a great combo - I'm looking at picking one up.

Plumpzz that's awesome. Do you have a sound/video clips where I can hear
how it sounds?

Sickboy101, Are you running HFCs or test pipes? Do you have any sound/videos out there as well?

Thanks in advance guys. You're a great help!

Unfortunately I don't have any sound clips. My future plans are to go with the XYZ y pipe and HFCs. I'm very happy with the quality and sound of the Fujitsubo exhaust. I'll probably wait till next season to do the above mentioned mods.

Good luck op!

Well it sounds like there are definitely a few poeple happy with the Fujitsubo exhaust - good. Would any members with the Legalis-R be willing to comment how the muffler/tips look? I'm plagued with finding something that looks good under the Nismo rear bumper...hoping the Fuji Legalis is similar looking to stock...can anyone verify the diameter AND the length of the tips? I am hoping they compare to my stock ones:

tiguy99, the test pipes made a large difference. under load under 3k, its a real deep tone. then above that 3k, its a louder and sharper sound. I admit, at about 3k-4k there is some rasp. im running resonated test pipes and no resonator in the midpipe. with that being said, I still love the sound. it really livened the exhaust note up and made it more like what i expect to hear from an after market muffler. and the best part, you can barely hear it on the highway, even without cats and resonators like my case

The tips of the Legalis-R are the same size as the nismo's non s-tune aka stock nismo's.
only differences are that the fuji's tips are not rolled (IMO i like it better this way) and the tip is one solid flowing piece, instead of looking like a cylinder cover. im not exactly sure of the depth, but the opening of the tips are like 4.5" or 4.75"? i cant exactly remember but i think its supposed to be 120mm which is about 4.75". Its big but i love it

plus its gonna look awesome with your bumper. the can and the tips are polished and look amazing. i wash both every time i wash my car and they shine up so well

mine. btw i know the exhaust is crooked, i took these as soon as i put it on and adjusted it later. i need to take better pics

You sir are the MAN. After reading that and seeing the pics, I literally just bought the exhaust. Now getting back to the OP's original question: I also just purchased the Motordyne ART pipes and XYZ y-pipe with resonator. I will first install just the cat-back (with everything else being stock) and take a video. I will then install the art pipes and resonated XYZ pipe and make another video for sound comparison. If the sound is too 'tame' I will purchase the XYZ straight pipe and switch out the resonator (although the resonated XYZ pipe is said to make a hair more torque over the straight XYZ pipe ).

And BOTH of you just motivated me to get my hands on this exhaust and try it out ASAP!

Right now, I still have my HR Y pipe and stock exhaust in storage. I'm going to install the HR Y-pipe first and run it for a lil bit then swap in the XYZ pipe with resonator. This should be a good setup especially with my Berk HFCs I have now

Can't wait to see the videos! I'm excited

Well there is no exhaust quite like it. Comparable, looks wise, to stock and Nismo S-Tune, but with larger tips (perfect for my Nismo rear bumper). Also said to sound similar to the Nismo S-Tune exhaust, but deeper (not necessarily louder). So, for someone looking to make power, while retaining the clean stock look, without excessive noise - can't go wrong!

Sounds like its a winner! I won't feel too bad I'm giving up my Fast Intentions Intimidator exhaust to get it.

Looks like I can use it for FI as well. Woo hoo. I'm going from one awesome exhaust to another

I have at the moment the fujitsubo legalis R with test pipes and stock Y-pipe. Without any dude, the xyz will be my choice.

This exhaust is really quiet, and with a deeper tone than stock or the nismo. Here is a video of my car with strup headers, stock cats, stock y-pipe and the fujitsubo.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLiwD...eature=related

But when you run test pipes it comes alive (same setup but with strup test pipes)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfZVg...eature=channel

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jie01...eature=channel

IMO the fujitsubo is the perfect exhaust to run test pipes because the tone and volume is just perfect. Before this setup I had turbo xs exhaust with berks hfc and it was a lot louder.

But I think also, that if you are going to choose the motordyne Art Pipes and the xyz with resonator maybe the volume will be a bit low for my taste.

Sorry for my bad english

Thumbs up

I've owned a few exhausts but the Fujitsubo Super Ti was by far my favorite in terms of looks and sound. It yielded modest gains overall, too.

The exhaust tone was noticeably lower at idle and was as quiet as stock. At cruising speeds, there was a distinct tone that was music to my ears (imho). When you open it up, the calming note changes to an aggressive one in a hurry.

I sold mine a while back, though..

Anyway, with the XYZ pipe from Motordyne, this will sound amazing! You should get the ART pipes too, while you're at it. That's what I'd do if I were to get another exhaust (non-true duals).
