Default Fujitsubo Exhausts

I been considering a few new exhausts and I'm pretty close to picking one up, but before I do I wanted to ask a question about the depth or length of the Fujitsubo exhaust's finisher. Some seem to be different lengths than others (at least in the images I've seen). Is this normal, maybe people buying a Nismo spec exhaust for a non-Nismo car (or G35 and s/b Z33)? Are people installing them differently or mod'ing (cutting) them after purchase?

Only one way to install the exhaust. What you may be looking at are different versions of the exhaust.

I was thinking that was a possibility as well, possibly different specs of the same exhaust.

What's your take on the exhaust in general?

I'm very happy with it. However, sometimes I wish I had bought the Nismo. It's practically the same exhaust, made by the same company, but with different tips and much cheaper.

I could be wrong but the white Z's exhaust seems shorter than the two others. This could be the angle playing tricks on me, but then I look at the tip or cone alone the white and blue seem very similar but the Solar Orange look little longer. I remember seeing something a website that said they were offered with a "straight cut" tip and "slant". Is this an option for our application?

All of the clips I've heard sound pretty different, with the Fujitsubo sounding noticably better but the Nismo looks like a great buy.

I like the way they don't have an "artificially deep" sound to them. A lot of the aftermarket systems seem to try to create an artificial note and almost bury the sound of the engine. And yes, I would imagine the level of mods makes a huge difference in overall sound, for example Z1's (Adam's) car sounds unreal, in part due to the use of titanium but mostly the level of preparation the car has gone through. Others that were bone stock had a nice moderate but noticeable change in the exhaust note that complemented the VQ's natural sound, not overbearing also very crisp and clean.

As for the negatives, the only complaints I found were the stock'ish look (which I feel is not a problem), and now - low ground clearence from Yokomo. Can any of you guys expand on any problems you've found?

my car is very low and the exhaust has not been an issue for me at all. The midpipe and muffler sit quite nicely. The Y pipe is low, but that is true on all the systems (except those that don't use one in the first place)

Thanks for the input guys, I picked it up today and it will probably go on later next week when I'm done with rebuilding the engine.

However, I do disagree with the title, I wouldn't call the Fuji a "poser" of the Nismo's muffler because Fuji has been making this exhaust for 6-7 years vs. HKS making the Nismo's for 2-3 years. Its proboably not fair to HKS to rate the originality either, I'm sure they had to use the S-Tune as a basis (I'm sure Nissan handed HKS a small creative box to work within).

Anyone looking to trade their Fuji? I have a JIC Spartan semi-titanium I would be willing to trade for one.

I know I am - I have Motordyne ART pipes and an XYZ pipe on the way. That should definitely 'wake up' this exhaust, since it is just as quiet as stock when it is the only mod to the exhaust system. I will post some more videos to my original thread when everything is installed.

A guy who works in the same building has one on his G and it surprised me how docile it was in the lower revs. However I've got high flow exhaust pieces from the heads on out so I don't expect the exact same note but I think it should be nice. Can't wait till it's all sorted out, currently my motor is on the stand being broken down and prepped to go to the machinist.
