Default Injen Super SES Exhaust : Straight Tip Design

I just bought at 2004 Silverstone and am ready to get an exhaust.

I'm holding out for the new SES1985C Straight Tip, TD Exhaust by Injen. It can be seen on the 2nd picture down from the right on: http://www.injen.com/super_ses.html

I'm curious if anyone knows when this will be out on the market? The AD says "New January 04' Release". . . but I've heard people saying it would be out in November. Does anyone know?

I'm not having luck anywhere with a release date.

And if anyone has information about gains for the new SES vs. the old one would be appreciated as well.

Well said Thumper.

I'm also going to purchase Borla Headers with the SES1985C along with test pipes. Does anyone have any suggestions where i can find test pipes?

Talking Answers.

All the major companies just got back from SEMA, so the release date I believe they are shooting for is end of november or beginning of december.

As far as gains go they should be no different from the angled one.

Test pipes, INJEN will have their own test pipes that go along with their exhaust system. I must say they are pretty too, but I fear how loud the combo of headers test pipes and injen will sound like.

StrictlyZ should have all of them in stock when they come out

Yuichi,

I was a bit curious how loud the Header and TestPipes would sound like myself.

As far as sound, I am shooting for a deep - yet loud and agressive tone. I am worried that the Test Pipes will enhance the exhaust to have a louder high pitched tone.

What is everyone elses views on this?

Heh looks like accidently was logged into my old account..

Chris- I'll let you guys know as soon as I get mine installed. We are working on a power upgrade article for the next www.sportzmagazine.com Article

We are also dynoing after everymod that we are doing.

I'll try to get some soundclips up as well. Bobby already did a before soundclip I'll try to get some comparable ones when it comes time. Keep in mind thought the order I'm doing my mods. I will be doing headers before I do the cats.

Yuichi,

Sounds perfect. I'm pretty much already determined to get the new Injen exhaust due to how much I like the angled version, and this one shouldn't be much different.

I'm wanting to put in my pre-order on Friday so I can get it soon. I'm anxious :-)

My main concerns are that would you consider High-Flow cats or Test Pipes to go with the Headers and Exhaust? The other concern is that would you consider getting a new ECM or to just have my existing one updated by a performance shop?

I'm going to pre-order through:
http://conceptzperformance.com/

The price for the Injen exhaust is $860.00 + 60.00 for shipping. Is this a competitive price?

Yuichi,

I'm trying to send you a PM back but it says your Inbox is full.

I was curious if you could get me any pictures and/or a soundclip of your exhaust? If so, I will buy many products from your company without hesitation. I'm ready to buy asap.

I have a soundclip too, but my briefcase account on yahoo won't let me share it publicly unless you have a yahoo account which I need to specify for sharing.

Also. . . is there much of a different in tone from the Angled design and the Straight Design?

i've talked to z1 and they already have the ses straight tip exhausts in stock as of 11/11. i ordered mine ($799) and hopefully i'll have it by monday/tuesday. i'll probably dyno afterwards so i can see the real gains as opposed to the advertised ones (for the angled tips).

Id bet vic can put it up on the server, but he's not online right now and I can only upload photos. but Ill send him this way when he gets back, hopefully he can help us out, cause I too would love to hear it.

can you comment on how it compares to the angle tip?

and more importantly have you seen it installed? I want to know if the canisters are more hidden in the new design, I dont like the look of 2 potato launchers in the back.

not the same height or distance between the two pics, but this should give a ruff idea of the difference.

AJK4,

Hey ajk4. . . where is "Z1" located on the internet? I would like to give them a call and place an order with them for the exhaust (straight design), intake, and borla headers.

Also. . when you installed it - did you do any modifications to your ECU.
