Default Exhaust Issues : Searching for loudest (yet exotic) crusing sound.

Ok, I thought I was dead set on making the decision to order the new Injen's Straight Tip exhaust until I heard a few others (Nismo and Stillen). I'm also willing to add more to get the loudest sound. (Headers, High-Flow Cat, etc..)

All of the sound clips I have heard were either on a dyno or the car just reving.

My goal is to find an exhaust that has the loudest and most exotic sound while at cruising speed (3000 - 3500 RPMS).

Can anyone help me as to which exhaust I should consider for this purpose? If possible, I'd love to find sound clips of exhaust tones while actually driving and not on a dyno or a dead stop.

Please help! I'm ready to buy ASAP

-Chris

Failsafe,

Thank you so much! I hope others see this post and attach some sound clips of their personal exhaust systems in action :-)

No, I'm fine. I'll go with just getting an aftermarket.

Thanks for the idea!

Is the Tanabe Super Medalion Racing Exhaust a dual cat back or a single with dual mufflers?

RS*R exhaust. Loud but best sounding exhaust IMO.

Default try invidia

Some guy was actually selling his invidia exhaust because it was too loud. He was at the muffler shop near my house, maybe he got harrased by the local PD.

p.s. he didn't have free flow cats or header either, just cat backs.

I put a flowmaster for a camaro on mine, I had a sound clip on 350zfrenzy, but cant find it. Here is another. If you are only looking for sound, it is very exotic. It sounds even better than the recordings, I guarantee it.

you cruise at 3500rpm? Every time I hear someone cruising at such a high RPM I laugh at them for not shifting...

Thanks everyone for all of your feedback!

I have went with the NISMO Exhaust with HighFlow Cats. Jason has this on his Z and has clips posted up on the board for everyone to hear. Sounds great.

Hey 2003z,

I was wondering about the camaro flowmaster you put on your Z. What year camaro is it for? Also, was it a direct fit, or was some modification/fabrication needed to get it installed?

I am mainly looking for the good exotic sound and the clips in the link you posted pretty much nail the sound I want. Please let me know. Thanks

Default Too much $$

That's great, but price is the driving issue. $800+ (Nismo) vs. $200 (Flowmaster).

Based on those numbers, looks like Flowmaster is the way to go.
