Default Pics?

2003z,

Do you have any pics of your setup? I'm very interested in seeing what it looks like. Let me know.

$200 is just a muffler. Your not getting the full cat back piping. If you are, Id like to know what it is made out of and if it is mandrel bent!

You can put just a muffler on the car, Not sure what it would do..

If you want to just do that, then remove only the muffler and get a 12" mandrel bent tube to go from the single pipe out to the back and you will get more flow then if you were to put on a flowmaster and a louder sound

Yeah, I honestly thought of that, but instead I did this for a while. I made this website to show step by step what I did and put two sound clips showing the sound difference. I only ran it this way for about 2 days because it was TOO loud and fart-canish.

ChrismCagle's Custom Exhaust Mod

I see that Magnaflow has a full cat back system for around $550. Maybe that would work, but it's still a bit more that I can comfortably spend right now.

AREITU,

Thanks for the link, but isn't that the same as what's on this page: http://www.everything350z.com/exhaust.html

The link you posted is cool, but I don't read japanese so I have no idea what any of the things say on that link you sent. The one thing that has peaked my interest is about 3/4 of the way down the page on the right side there are some weird ports above the sway-bar. What's that?!?!

here's pics of when I had mine.

Like I said above, the muffler shop f'd up the y-pipe and it was a major chokepoint, so I now have a dual Borla and hollow cats instead.

I also have to vote for the RS-R. Almost everyone I know says it sounds awesome and EVERYONE I know says it's loud. Even other Z owners approach me and comment on how awesome it sounds.

I have always used Flowmaster mufflers on all my cars with great results on the dyno so I am for sure going to have a new exhaust built with FM's

I also saw a 3" dual inlet/dual outlet 'camaro' flowmaster muffler on their site.

I am going to the guy who does my exhausts and see if he can do a real dual exhaust with it

I would not be caught dead with flowmasters on my car. Especially a Z33!

They're a Japanese company. I believe someone told me that they're one of the leaders in springs over there. I've got their GTII exhaust and I must say that I love this thing. I put in the silencers just so it'll be quieter, but that lasted maybe a day. The sound is just amazing.

It's worth it, trust me.
I consider it a steal since the other nicest sounding exhaust in my book is Amuse's. That one is double the price of the GTII!

I would also say the tanabe, i switched from the JIC to the Tanabe exhaust and in my opinion, it is such a better sounding piece. More rasp and a higher pitch.

Pro-1 makes a system very similar to the RS*R. Very loud w/ removable silencers. I have their system on my g35 coupe. I also installed one on SHIFT_Z's daytona blue Z about a month ago, and he loves the thing. Just got pix from another Z member that I'll post up whenever I get a chance. You can get the Pro-1 from either me or David Stoner who is a vendor for the forum.

does anyone have any sound clips of the rsr? Also I spoke with rsr today and they said that the dual would probably be out in spring of 2004

The page you just sent took all their pics and sound clips off the one I sent you. I know because they spell 5Zigen Miracle Fire Ball incorrectly. They misplaced the L with an R.

I've also been wondering what those ports at the bottom were. I assume the smaller one is the stock one (and assuming you own a 350Z, you know what it is). I asked a friend of mine to translate tommorrow. I'll get back to you on that.
