Default nismo y-pipe question

hey all,
I was changing my transmission oil yesterday and found out that my nismo y-pipe has some damage.
One of the flex pipes has ripped open from being scratched, and I can see the inside of the pipe.
Does this mean that I have to replace my y-pipe? The steel braiding has been ripped open but I don't see any damage to the inside.
Any help is appreacited.

You can get it fix at a muffler shop. Might be cheaper to buy a replacement.

It really depends

the braided section is the outer barrier tompeotect the flex section. Once the braid is compromised the flex is more susceptible to damage. I just replaced the y pipe on my car (not nismo) for the exact same thing as it developed a nasty exhaust leak
