I see that as well. Would also explain why the sticker on my box says Made in USA.

Yeah.. see where yours are etched in I have the badge. I think that B&B makes them or made them and maybe they switched it up a little. Cause the model or part number matches up. I don't think that its a matter of being fake. Other than that they look pretty identical.

just called NISSAN North America NISMO Division and confirmed that they NEVER went through any kind of disign change since r-tune headers came out!!!

 

"The early generation NISMO headers (manufactured by B&B in AZ) had NISMO on the tag. The later NISMO headers (made by the former DC in CA) had the NISMO etching."

I got that from another forum guy can any confirm this cause it's crazy to think I could spend all that money on Nismo headers when all someone did is weld nismo tag on cheap ebay headers.

 

I would say that is true since the part number matches B&B's part number on their website. If you saw these in person you would know they are not cheap ebay headers by any means. If you look at them they are identical except for one having a badge welded vs the other have the word nismo etched in.

 

Out of curiousity and boredom I emailed B&B, here is the reply:

"From everything I see there these are the headers we produced. The tag in the first photo has our part number and build batch for identification purposes and if I remember correct was put out of site as they have the NISMO tag in the third photo visible. As for the two different part numbers the FPIM-0300 is our part number and 14002-RNZ35 is Nismo’s part number. It has been a while since we made any of these for them so I cannot say for sure who if anyone is making them now. I will say that if it is something NISMO is selling I am sure it is a quality part as I am aware of there quality standards and they will not just sell anything.

True, but since there's no way to find out what this header is made of or any specifications i wasn't sure. I hate to believe that it's fake that's why i'm still doing research and posted this thread. it sure doesn't look like cheap ebay header for sure!!! need more researching!!!

Apparently they aren't fake, just a different run of headers that Z1 has never sold before.

 

authentic or not, did OP decide to use it and see any power gains?

 

Real or fake, they all copied the same design, you should see the same gains. My "Top Speed" headers (the first company to make knock-off Z33 headers) made dyno proven 12whp gains are are still in great shape almost 5 years after install.

 

I know this has been long dead, but I'm curious -- did NISMO ever make a header for the 370Z?

From what I've seen, no, but maybe someone knows something I don't... perhaps these still work with 370Z???

I have no clue. I just find it odd I can't find anything NISMO header-related to the 370Z.

Also, what leads me to suspect that is that aftermarkets, such as Megan and DC Sports specify compatibility with 350Z, 370Z, and G37, and if their specs are based on NISMO's (don't know if they are, but they look pretty close, if not identical), I think it's a reasonable conclusion.

Any insight appreciated.

 

adam do you by chance have a pair of legit headers to go against... im inclined to believe adam but i think it needs to be shown the difference between real and fakes
