SOUND CLIP: Nismo Cat Back w/ Random Tech High FLow Cats
Going to get my dyno done in the morning. Will post base dyno(Injen CAI+grounding kit) vs. 2nd dyno with (Injen CAI+grounding kit+Nismo Exhaust+Hiflo Cats.)

Here is the dyno graph as promised. Top line is todays dyno hp/torque(Nismo exhaust+grounding kit+hiflo cats+Injen CAI) vs run on 11/6/2003(grounding kit+Injen CAI). Temperature was 70 degrees both times. Done on a dynojet. 5th gear.
Nice!
I just got my Nismo exhaust installed, with the cats to follow on Sunday. I'm pretty excited. I really like how nice the new exhaust sounds. Not too loud, so nice.

Wow, great gains. Did you experience a large difference in noise going from the Nismo exhaust to the cats? What would you compare the noise diff. to? Trying to make a decision on whether the gains in hp are worth the added noise of the cats.
Well for me. I didnt experience just having Nismo exhaust and adding cats. I took a chance and added both at the sametime. Your under the car so you might as well do both. Initially the sound is loud but after about 200 or 300 miles. It calms down. You can really hear the exhaust when you increase throttle(2000-4000 rpm) but at crusing speed the car is quiet. I would say it is worth it. Car has a very distinctive sound to it now.

If you want to show the kind of gains product manufacturer's show on their products. Take your lowest pre-install run and your highest post-install run and you will have a higher HP / TQ number. If a company post's numbers like that so can you! (but dont thats cheating). Nismo's numbers are on target though.
I just had my RT cats installed and they seem like they definately have increased horsepower and torque. I will be dynoing when I get the Headers. I have a K&N drop in filter with a Mines ram intake and Injen SES exhaust. I don't dislike the sound but it is louder between 2000-4000rpm during WOT. It does sound badass even though its loud. I only wonder how loud it will get with the fujitsubo header. Do any of you know roughly how much horsepower is lost when silencers are installed on exhausts in general?

For this run. I didnt get A/F ratio taken. Probably when I go for cams or headers i will have it done.
Just got the RT Cats installed at Avalon, and WOW! The car is sic! With the Nismo exhaust, the car sounds and feels awesome! If I'm wrong to think that the car is now getting at least 300hp at the crank, then I don't want to be right.
Plus I installed the Insaneamine grounding kit, and the idle does feel smoother.
All a must have.

I have a grounding kit that I ordered from Insaneamine way back in the day. It has been sitting on the floor in my room for the past few months now. I got it when they first started talking about them. I think its time I install it. HAH
Hi everone, this is actually my first post. I usually just read threads when I have questions and I must say, it is really comforting to know that there are people here who know what they are actually talking about. Thanks for the great info everyone!
Anyways, I live in California and I'm just concerned about all these comments out there such as "it's illegal to install HF Cats on a car with less then 50K miles" and I'm also concerned about passing smog inspection. I'm strongly considering getting the RT Cats but I would just like to know if anyone can clarify my questions first?
The last thing I want is to do is install it and then find out I have to uninstall the damn thing because I can't pass the emissions test!
Thanks...

you are really taking a chance if you live in cali, and if you get caught there could be a healthy fine let me tell you...the cats are not legal in cali, and unless you absolutely think its worth the extra power (and i assume it would be substantial) then go for it...just make sure to camo those cats so they look stock...just my 02
