Default exhaust gurus, a ? for you

ok im looking to either go sc or tt in the next 2 years.....in the meantime id like a nice sounding exhaust system. With my plans down the road is there any specific recommendations for an exhaust...either to get or to avoid?

Before you get headers, decide if you want supercharger or turbo. If you go turbo, you will have wasted your money on headers. If you go supercharger I would recommend XERD long tube headers and some high flow cats after that since the XERDs eliminate the stock cats (if you care about that sort of thing). And whichever you choose, I would go with a 2.5 inch true dual system with an X-pipe and your choice of muffler and or resonators. This is exactly what I have and am more than satisfied. You could expect to pay between 600-650 for the whole "catback" custom system.

the whole point of XERD's long tube headers is eliminating the Cats. They end where you would bolt on the cat back system. No place to really put high flow cats unless you put in the middle of the exhaust system somewhere.

In that case it is best to go with some other header like Nismo Headers or others with RT High Flow Cats or some other brand high flow cats / test pipe.
