Default Question about test pipes and mpg

When test pipes are installed how does that affect your mpg or does it at all?

Also are your cats removed once you install your test pipes doesn't that make you not pass emissions?

I know some test pipes will not allow you to pass emissions testing. Some are CARB, some are not DOT legal.

What brand?

1. Don't know if it improves gas mileage, but I would think so, since you are deleting the restrictive OEM cats. Either way, it's probably not a lot to notice.
2. TP's take the place of the cats. There is a simple fix for the CEL on your dash and emissions test you must pass (and several threads on here that explain and show how to do it), takes about 5 min and less than $20.00.
3. If CARb legal is what you desire, then you might want to look at High Flow Cats.

lol been on and off on here mpg is too loose of a term to search since it doesn't do anything and test pipes bring up a lot of sound threads vs mpg i know they make more power but my car is pure stock so it doesn't really affect me just looking for an answer on mpg issue since with one cat out i'm getting 15ish mpg in the city
