Default To Members with Topspeed pro 1 Exhaust

Hi all,

i just installed this exhaust and it sounds amazing. it is very aggressive but i have one question regarding how the muffler is hung. Somehow the mufflers touch my rear bumper. i am afraid that it will melt my bumper. It drive it around for 15 minutes and apparently the muffler is only warm. I was just wondering if the muffler gonna be warm only all the time or it will be hot.

can anyone tell me if i installed the exhaust wrong because the mufflers touch my bumper or it is supposed to be like that? thanks

Mine was pretty close as well, no melt problems after a 1 1/2 hour drive.

If it's touching, it'll melt the bumper at one point or another. Take your car to a muffler shop, have them heat up the hanger holding up the exhaust and bend it down - easy fix.

Topspeed is another HKS replica, correct?

a) Pay your shop to fix the fitment issue. Its been known to melt the bumper
b) What do you mean by too loud? The droning inside the car? A popular mod for the Godspeed (and im sure the Topspeed) is the Magnaflow Resonated X-Pipe. The difference is known to be night and day when it comes to the sound. Do a bit of searching and you will see people with problems similar with yours.

Heres a thread to get you started. BOTH of your problems are addressed in here:

i dont know but i think topspeed is replica version of invidia n1. i think. and invidia n1 is a replica of something i am not sure... i think installing silencers would help.. i need to find and test it.

Pro-1 is the older exhaust that is no longer made and yes it is a replica of Invidia which was a replica of others (there are actually quite a few that are designed like this). The silencers will definitely quiet it down but it'll sound muffled and higher in pitch.

This exhaust actually makes pretty good power (at least on my Z it did), more so than some of the other conventional designs, but only from the mid-range on. The low-end loses a bit of power due to the large piping size. Putting the silencers in will give you the low-end power back, but will lose power from mid-range on.

I drove with the silencers in and took them out at the drag strips when I had this exhaust.

^ They now replicate HKS (or the other 5 companies that replicate HKS), though, so understandable.
