Default Nismo exhaust is awesome

I purchased my nismo exhaust from my dealer the day after thanksgiving - - easily installed it at home, save your money guys, no need to pay yhe dealer to install unless you have no time. I'd say it took me 2 1/2 hours start to finish, including cleanup - - I jacked up the rear end from both sides, and used jack stands for safety - I took alot of time making sure every thing was safe and not hurting my Z - from there I easily reached the bolts on the cats and from there back it was cake.

The exhaust note is awesome, I've read others say it sounds exotic and I have to agree - the quality is second to none - and the engine seems more responsive - - you pay for the Nismo name and quality but nothing but the best for my Z.

I think this exhaust is gaining in popularity. Very few people bought it when it was first released but now I see a lot of posts (and raves) about it. The tone and quality are amazing.

Dito TCL. I know that the Nismo exhaust isnt the "best performer" but it sure does sound the best and is very distinctive in my book. I self rationalized getting the cats to make up the difference in hp and torque.

actually, in the exhaust shoot-out in sport z mag, nismo did well. also, it was the only one who's posted gains were most accurate.

furthermore, AFAIK, it maintains torque downlow. this is prob with many exhaust outthere, so becareful.

however, it does cost more, but has Nissan warranty.

Lastly, performance nissan has best price and customer svc.

Thanks guy's for the nice words about us!! I've said it before, but thanks to your support we are the number one Nismo distributor in the USA. Because of the huge support of this Forum we have been able to hold our pricing at a cost plus a few bucks level!! Thanks again!! Jeff

Agree with ALL of you. The sound of the Nismo is most awesome! At around $1200 list the Nismo is pretty darn pricey. At $847 (through Performance Nissan...or a friend who works at a dealership ), the Nismo becomes a little more fairly priced IMO...and warranted by Nissan!

Anybody know what steel the Nismo cat-back exhaust is made from? I know the Borla system uses T-304 stainless steel, which has a very high chromium content--won't rust . . . hence the 1,000,000 mile warranty from Borla. I like the sound of the Nismo better, but won't purchase it, if its quality isn't at least as high as Borla.

$120 to a commercial business
$140 to a residence.

We can stuff the high flow cats in the box and it will cost a slight bit more.

I know it is stainless steel. I will look on one for a number. I dont see rust being a problem with the Nismo.

It sounds like stock, but richer and louder.

The stillen sounds more High Pitched with no real low end to the tone. Not as full, but still a nice sound...

I have a sound clip of Mr Twisted's car with High Flow Cats and Stillen exhaust but no where to host it. my ftp is maxed... :-/

if you want me to email it to you send me your email...

If you can find out, I would appreciate knowing the quality/grade/type of stainless steel from which the exhaust is constructed.

So, Jeff, how do we get the preferred my350z.com member price, instead of the internet price?
