Z1 Test pipes
Hey guys, not sure if this is the right thread...but just wanted to comment on Z1's 2.5in stainless pipes. Great price and quality. Welds are great and fitment was perfect, I didn't have to force anything.
Now, the install....
I did this in my garage under 2 jackstands in the front. Its really a ***** removing the bolts at the manifold flange, mainly because of the bulky cats in the way...not to mention you should soak those bad boys in some P-Blaster for a couple hours to break em loose easier. The top nut on the flange was also removed from under the car, with a standard open end-box end wrench. My point is, that it's do-able. from above the car just seemed retarded considering I'd need like 2.5ft worth of extensions.
Another thing...the two nuts from the U-shaped bracket connected to the cats would NOT come off. The two bolted to the tranny were no problem...but I ended up actually dropping the cats out still connected together by the bracket. So that is also do-able, I was able to put a lot more force on them and remove them once they were out from under the car. I had rounded the head of one so had to file the surfaces back down for removal.
Anyway, just thought I'd share my particular situation in case anyone was thinking about doing this mod. You can do it on your own, with some patience. I installed the JWT pop charger, Z1 Z-tube, and Z-1 test pipes all last night and I started around 7 and finished at 2am...with a dinner and Call of Duty break thrown in there from about 8-10:30
Sounds great! definite improvement in sound and performance. Sure can smell that exhaust now though! No CEL yet either. Mine's an 03 so hopefully I won't get one!
Have a good weekend guys,

Yeah I got a phone call from them confirming the order...and they were actually waiting on the pipes since they were out of stock, but got em shipped the next day. Good packaging and fast shipping. Will definitely be ordering from them in future
We've been working hard on changing minds on that. Renfro I'm really happy to see you enjoyed the product.
i just put mine on this weekend.. yes the overall quality was good..it sounds really loud. but one thing that i didnt like was..on the driver side.. O2 bung did not fit right. I would need to dent the frame a bit with a hammer. besides that..nice product.
