Default My review of the XERD cat pipes

Hello everyone i recently got my cat pipes from xerd. These are 2.5" diameter and have the bracket so that it mounts up to the tranny brace. My initial reaction to them was that there was a lip inside the pipe where the bracket was welded on which we had to grind down so that the pipes was smooth. This was a significant lip like maybe 1/8" all the way around the inner pipe. Seems to have been caused during welding, would have been nice if XERD had done the grinding but its all good. Ok on to my review. Install was ok if you have the right tools. Took us about 2 hrs ( we had to go get some deep well sockets) make sure you get new bolts as all of the stock ones need replaced. After we got them on i took it around for a few passes and it sounds a lot louder and very raspy up top. The next day we cut out the resonator on my car to further improve the stock flow. With both of these off it sounds very deep down low then gets a higher pitched raspy sound up top.

Power? I didnt dyno i dont have the money for it. By the seat of the pants feel its not much of a diff. I used 10 x 1.5, 30/40mm bolts to mount it. You need about 10 of them all together which gets kinda pricey depending on where you get them. I spent like $20 on nuts and bolts just to install. Fit was excellent goes right in all the stock spots.
