Default 350Z : New Intake? Air Filter? or what? (Need help)

Hey everyone, i own a 2005 350Z and i do not know much about modifications. I already added a few things to the ''look'' of the car and it looks rly nice. Now im debating on wether or not i should modify the performance. The sound is already AMAZING (stock) and it is obviously fast enough for me, but it is in the human nature to always want more :P

So i dont know much, i would need you guys to be as precise as you can and trust me, any kinds of help will really be appreciated.

My friends were telling me to get an air intake (possibly Aem or K&N). I made some research on forums, and saw that some people say that keeping it stock is better, while others say that changing air intakes could reduce HP, and honestly, listening to videos on youtube, the sound difference isint big and in my opinion it is NOT nicer than the stock sound.

Things i dont want

1- Dont want to Change the sound
2- Dont want to lose Horsepower

Things i would want : If i can keep the same sound, but somehow make it abit louder, i would like that. Adding a few HP would be nice too, obviously.

The question is... What can i do?

Please give me ur opinion on the whole air intake thing, and does changing air filters do anything? I heard that the stock ones are ''paper'' and that the K&N reusable filters are good, but do they increase sound or performance?
Other than those 2 things, please tell me what else i can do. I dont want to spend too much and i dont want to change EVERYTHING. What can i do?

THANKS!! Really appreciated

ok thanks i read it all but it doesnt answer 2 things:

- it gives me info on the pros and cons of different intakes including the stock one, but how bout the sound? Is the sound truly better because the stock one is really good and from viewing videos on youtube, i wasnt a fan of the other intakes, but i would like to hear that from you guys, 350z owners.

- The other thing, air filters. You say that it is a cheap alternative to a air intake. But what do they do ? Lets say i buy the K&N air filter, does improve performance, does it increase the sound? and is it even better than the stock paper filter?

Intakes are a waste of money for performance and / or sound, maybe a filter replacement or cone filter at the most. What about just getting a plenum spacer?

An Osiris tune would be the best bang for your buck.
